Turns out it's not for me either. Neither Dragon Age I have access to is prepared to launch on my PC, despite trying all the troubleshooting options I can find.
In case you haven't checked there, there are a few suggestions down in the Issues-sections.

Just about to finish another playthrough of Ocarina of Time and I'm a bit unsure what to play next (which is the reason I went back to OoT). Needs to be one of the following before Xenoblade 3 drops at the end of the month:
- Obra Dinn - Katana Zero - A Short Hike - Tunic
Not in the mood for any particular type of game either - I've heard enough good things about all of them.

Just finished portal 1 on the switch. Don't want to jump into portal 2 immediately, so need something else.
Got the FAR: Sails and FAR: er, the other one - sort of mellow keep a vehicle thing going on a 2d landscape, where you have to stop and start occasionally to sort puzzles out.
I thought It'd be quite relaxing, and some of it is, but there's this constant 'keep a vehicle going' thing going on all the time, so I might try something else.
I suppose I could go back to metroid dread after the stupid first boss killing me repeatedly. But even if I do, I want something sort of, breath of the wild type, I think.
Maybe horizon:west thingy - I've only done an hour or so of that to open it up.
Or maybe some psvr games that I haven't played for yonks

Well, Obra Dinn is the only stone-cold classic on that list so why settle for anything less?
It's pretty short.

I think I’m pretty much done with God of War 4 (got the valkyrie boss and final story quest to go - sod finding all the collectibles) so its probably one of the following next:
Finish Life is Strange 2 replay Restart Disco Elysium Restart Obra Dinn Jedi Fallen Order Death’s Door Hades Slay the Spire
or just fall asleep playing Mr Driller in Drillland while listening to podcasts

I've just fired up my switch for the first time in ages and realised that I never got around to Obra Dinn either. Will have to give that a whirl on my commute.
Tempted to pick up triangle strategy too, as I loved FF Tactics back in the day.

simple Slay the Spire is both excellent and a nice change of pace from God of War.

Absolutely this. It's brilliant.

I described Obra Dinn to a friend who hasn't played games in a few decades and he thought I'd gone insane.

Dunno, but I’m just downloading Blue Dragon to the XSX, as it’s only a few pounds in the sale, and I’ve never played it. Please suit me better than Final Fantasy!

Well it turned out the problem was Origin. The steam version of DAO works fine.

Anybody play Beyond A Steel Sky? It's currently on sale both on Xbox and PS5.
Technically it's a bit cheaper on PS5, but I could use the refunded credit for Elex to pay for most of the Xbox price.
Never played the first one on PC. It just looks neat.

I wonder how ecosse chooses what games to play now. He must be stuck in perpetual indecision
