I just finished Quantum Break, before that I played for some hours but abandoned Fallen Order and Psychnauts 2 and completed the awesome Yakuza 7. I'm really keen on Ghost of Tsushima but will probably wait till Xmas and sales to see if the PS5 upgrade gets discounted. So, in the meantime I'm looking at Greedfall - Series X A Plague Tale: Innocence - PS5 Control:Ultimate Edition - PS5 Judgment - PS5 RE3 - PS5
What say you? tempted by A Plague Tale...

Resident Evil 3 is apparently tiny, so that's a good shout. I'd probably avoid Control for the time being though, if you've just finished Quantum Break. Different games, but having the same developer can still lead to fatigue.

Sad you didn't get on with Fallen Order, that was my favourite game of this year, to the point I'm going through it again now on PS5. But fair enough.
Judgment is another behemoth, so RE3 sounds like a good shout to cleanse the palate.

Yeah go for RE3 next. It's short and bloody good.
Then Control because it's immense.

I really enjoyed Jedi:Fallen Order for a while but when back in Zeppo in the Tomb of Miktrull, I was bored shitless and not enjoying the puzzles. With so many games to play, I'm more ruthless these days, I'm not having fun, quit. Shame as the Star Wars "feel" was great , the game has plenty to offer.

So, completed RE3 and A Plague Tale: Innocence on PS5. Considering Judgment, Control on PS5 but tempted by Evil Within 2 on Xbox or Halo Ultimate (not a big Halol fan but did finish Halo 3). I *should* try and beat the 1-2 boss on Demon's Souls and continue with that.....

Play Evil Within 2. It's a lot of fun (each area is a sandbox and you've got a few options about how you go about taking on enemies)
Might as well make use of the early nights too

I'm very much loving Judgment but it's a pretty hefty game.

English was fine as far a I can remember. The main character mostly just says "What the fuck" anyway

Has anyone here played The Sinking City? I'll take any opinions, but will *especially* appreciate anyone who's played it on Switch or PS5. It's $25 US on PS5 vs $10 US on Switch. That's a 2.5x price difference for what could also possibly be a 2.5x resolution difference, and that's not taking into account 30 vs 60fps.
But really. Thoughts on the game in general are appreciated. Is a good game, worth picking up on its own merits? Performance reviews are good, but quality of the game itself is most important overall.

It’s a decent enough game. It’s a bit experimental though, Frogwares first attempt at fitting their adventure formula into something open world and a little non-linear. Terrible terrible combat, regardless of platform. The switch version had insane load times too, we’re talking minutes in between saves. PS5 is seconds and runs waaaay smoother. I’m pretty sure the switch version doesn’t even really hit 30 regularly, with substantially downgraded detail and density.

Played it on PS4 and it was fine. I enjoyed it. I'd probably liken it to Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines; technically ropey but good atmosphere, characters and story. The combat isn't good but it's also not difficult

Finished Elden Ring and Re Village, now have to choose from the following: - Ghost of Tsushima (have played the first hour or two). - Horizon : Forbidden West (ditto, keen to see now it's all patched) -Nioh 2 - Death Stranding -Control:Ultimate Edition
Control would be a nice break from open world but I'm keen on the rest as well. Hmmm.

Yeah, +1 for Control. I've played and enjoyed some of the above but Control feels like it'd be a nice break from open world collectathons.

Any of y'all played Vampire Swansong?
I played a bit of Werewolf Earthblood, and it was a decent 6, 7 PS3 as PS5 title.
Swansong is on sale for $30 and I'm trying to figure out whether to buy it.

It's great. And for the most part works on its own, although Origins and II setting up how mages, elves, qunari, dwarves etc are treated does help.
Great music too. Whenever you finish a story quest, go to the pub and listen to the bard sing about it.

Great, thanks. I'm in the mood for a long fantasy game now I'm reading the Witcher books.

Oh also! Don't spend too much time in the Hinterlands at the start. Come back later if you want to explore and do side quests, but a lot of people spend hours in the one location and burn out. The game has a lot more to offer!

How's the combat in Inquisition, @spookyxelectric? Compared with, say, God of War or Ghost of Tsushima, if you've played those?
I was a little put off when I looked at the control scheme and saw that the usual melee moveset - dodge roll, quickstep, heavy attack, light attack, block, parry, etc. - didn't seem to be part of the game.

It's not active combat. It's closest to FFXV than anything else. Where that game was "hold circle to action," this is "hold R2 to action." Similar active pause menu to select abilities and items too. It's fine for what it is. For a PC style RPG, it's more fast paced, but for a console RPG, it's kind of simplistic. Oh, and the warrior has a Scorpion hookshot.

Many thanks for your response, kind sir.
That's pretty much what I'd gathered elsewhere... which reinforces my previous impression that this game isn't for me, sadly.
This may be heretical to say - although I hope not! - but I think Kingdoms of Amalur may be more my speed, in terms of the main last-gen RPGs I don't already own.

Turns out it's not for me either. Neither Dragon Age I have access to is prepared to launch on my PC, despite trying all the troubleshooting options I can find.
