Hive mind - my girlfriend isn't much of a gamer but got on with Horizon Zero Dawn and does some basic adventure games (think the Lego stuff), as well as the Mario spin offs but wants something new.
We've a PS4 and Switch at home.
(Don't say BotW I tried)

Okami HD. Not as massive an undertaking as Breath of the Wild, plus cute doggies.
Tomb Raider trilogy by Crystal Dynamics is mechanically not too dissimilar from Horizon.
Guardians of the Galaxy is good fun.
The Uncharted series. Closer to Tomb Raider than Horizon, but with a much more likable cast.
Streets of Rage 4, which is unlike any of those, but the two of you can play together.

I'm no expert, but by shooter standards, Mass Effect and Borderlands seem to attract a lot of female players

Stardew Valley, Spiritfairer and Animal Crossing are great shouts if you think they might like social sims.
Streets of Rage 4 is great for coop, regardless of gaming level.
Splatoon 2 is a fantastic little arena shooter I've got many a casual player heavily into.
Ori and the Blind Forest if they want a fairly big adventure game.

My wifes like the Pokemon games, Mario Kart, Mario Party, Smash Bros and Spyro.
Lego Worlds and Lego City Undercover I assume she's played. A good short game was Agent X which my wife was enjoying over my shoulder. She's also played a bit of Luigi's mansion and the Room. Abzu and Firewatch caught her attention as did Obra Din.
Depends what she likes, there's the RPG side and the likes of Ys VIII, the Witcher and of course Skyrim.
I bounced off Okami myself and I really tried to like it.
[edit] I have a Switch so all these games are on that.
Another thought, is that Google Stadia offer. That's £16.50 and then £8.99 a month for a ton of games to try from.

Cheers all. A few bits to chew on. I bounced off Okami myself but it might be worth it.
Spyro, Tomb Raider all good shouts. Mass Effect also as well, especially if she does FemShep.
