Apologies if there is a thread somewhere, just looking for some advice.
Thinking of getting a new headset soon as I'm down to the shitting in ear things that came with one of my consoles and they're pish. I don't do loads of online talky talk so not that bothered about mic quality. I do however play on my Xbox One X and PS5 so ideally something that would be suitable for both. Not looking for god-tier, but something decent and perhaps that could also take advantage of the PS5's 3D audio shit?
There seems to be so many out there so any help would be appreciated.
I think I've asked before but I can't remember what I was told because I'm a fucking moron.

Steelseries Arctis 7X Wireless. ^ if you want wireless headphones that work with both consoles then this. Afaik it's only these and Audeze Penrose that work wirelessly with both, unless others that do have come out this year? If you want to connect to the audio jack on the controller (gah) then anything will work, pick your price point. |

I have to say, my Sony WH-1000XM3's sound absolutely excellent with games when just plugged into the 3.5mm socket on the back of TV. I just have a 6m or something cable that snakes around under the skirting and pops out behind the sofa. It's low tech but highly reliable.

I’m kinda tempted by some of the new Razer headsets. Currently have an Arctis 7 (regular version, not x or p) for the consoles and Arctis Wireless Pro for the PC.

Honestly not too fussed about wireless if that helps. I'm used to shoving into my controller jack.

Nother vote for the arctis steel series 7, been using one for couple years on pc so not current models but it's the most comfortable cans I've ever had. Sound quality v good but not audiophile great, 7.1 emulation is gubbins but they all are. Battery life and range is fine.
So comfy.
Wireless is a revelation too, if you can justify the added cost I'd say it's worth it, means you can go to kitchen while wearing them, means you don't accidentally throttle yourself

Oh yeah, definitely thumbs up for arctis steel series 7.
We use on ps5 and Xbox and it’s top notch.
Tried ps5 pulse which pales into insignificance in comparison.

Another Arctis 7x user here. Really great long playing sessions, simple and useful controls, and good mic.
Also works with phones thru USB C dongle.
Note that it can have a charging bug where if battery is completely depleted it needs to charge overnight before it responds ag
The latest version has an upgraded battery and is USB C so probably fixed this.

Not sure if those will work on your Xbox will they? The Arctis 7X (which I've also got and are great) have a little switch on the dongle to go from Xbox mode to everything else mode.

Yeah, I think any headset works on the Xbox, if it has a 3.5mm cable to plug into the controller i/o. Wireless requires a special chipset on Xbox, I believe.

TBH, if you are just going to go the wired route into your controller any cheap headphones will do.
