You know people that complain about their kids watching people play games instead of playing them and how they don't understand it? Gogglebox fans do what their kids do but with TV shows and films. That's what I assumed it was. I mean I do watch let's play videos so I can't really comment. It's a fine difference, but there *is* a difference |

I've never actually seen an episode of Gogglebox, it's always looked a bit...shit You know people that complain about their kids watching people play games instead of playing them and how they don't understand it? Gogglebox fans do what their kids do but with TV shows and films. Yeah, and I thought I would hate it but then I was trapped in a hotel room with my family and forced to watch it and it's really enjoyable. It's like a little window into other people's lives that works much better than you think it should.
ETA I still hate Giles and Mary though.

I watch it while still being aware that it’s taking away all the fun of discovering something fun on TV for yourself. But it’s also sharing the room with a broad range of people. Some you like. Some less so.
Id like to see an edition where they mix things up and invite people to wife swap the shit out of the place. Put Mary in with the older Muslim girl. The only thing you’d get out of her would be “What was that, dear?”

Whilst I agree Gogglebox is a stupid show with stupid people in it, it's still kind of wholesome in a weird way. Plus it's quite good as an overview on all the shit you can't be arsed to watch on telly.

I'm not sure politicians (former or current) should be in here, in general. They shouldn't be celebrities in the first place and if one were to ignore that as a qualifier, the list of politicians that wouldn't be eligible for a post is vanishingly small by comparison.
