You need to turn your misery into art danno. Then pretend to still be miserable after you're rich.

She's in that Ed Sheeran genre of music for people that don't like music.

Ed Sheeran should have his own thread really. Celebrities you thoroughly dislike because they're ED SHEERAN.

Coldplay>Adele>Sheeran
Coldplay are bland, but the guitar playing on their early records is clearly influenced by shoegaze/dreampop, for what it's worth.
Adele's songs are very predictable and often half-baked, relying on her (overrated) voice to carry them. Start with plaintive piano and earnest vocals, then bellow the chorus and keep bellowing for the rest of the song. However her music sounds like her own, as rote as it is.
Sheeran's music is incredibly cynical and sounds like it was written by committee or AI. Plus the looping thing he does is a parlour trick.

Future metoo in the making I expect the allegations will accuse him of manipulating and grooming vulnerable young women into listening to his music. The only song he ever did that sounded genuine was the one about Ellie Goulding cheating on him.

Rolling In the Deep is a banger. Easily her best. TBH I don't find the new one that bad.

They tried for blander, somehow, but Travis couldn't even be arsed to do that)

I absolutely loved their first album at the time. It's hugely melancholic and I was on a comedown pretty much all of my life at the time though. Can't stand their stuff now.

He’s right. Travis were one of the biggest bands around at the time.

See athlete... How Coldplay managed to keep it going for twenty years is one of life’s great mysteries. Music for people who don’t really like music.

It's kind of how I feel about Kings of Leon tbh. First 3 albums were great and they just shat the bed massively from the fourth onwards.

They essentially invented the 2000's landfill indie on their own.
Razorlight, Marmaduke Duke, The Fratellis, The Enemy, The Maccabees, The Wombats, The View, Little Man Tate, The Kooks and every post-Libertines act once the band broke up. What would we have done without guzzling that liquid hot bin juice in that decade witbout Coldplay directing them all?

I’d be gutted if I was in athlete and had to watch them talentless pricks making millions....

Easily the worst period of music in my lifetime. Nu-metal is probably 'worse', but at least it had a bit of vigour as well as being ironically entertaining.

I went to see kings of Leon in Manchester at the academy 2 when they released their first album. I really thought I was witnessing the birth of a new great rock band. Cut to 4 years later and sex is on fire...🤮
