There's a game in the sale at the moment - Ion Fury, for £6 for the next 2 days. It's made by 3DRealms and it's basically a female Duke Nukem. It's just as funny maybe even funnier. Cracking game and if you're an old Duke fan it's worth £6 all day.

Fuck really. I promised myself I would grab it in the next sale.
Except I'll piss my ten game challenge well and truly up the wall of I do.
Hmph.

Shenmue I and II for £4.99 is an absolute steal.

Crash Racing any good? Or did they mess it up when they added the microtransactions?

I love when a bunch of BC games like Max Payne, Red Dead Revolver, etc. are 80% off in the USA, then you go on the store and find they are only 40% off in Europe.

Yeah the sale prices are balls for these particular games. I would have grabbed MP 1&2 by now but they're not worth that for the time I would actually spend on them.

Yeah, seems the Rockstar licenced games are all more than they really should be. I'd replay Manhunt but not for £7.99.
Red Dead Revolver is also terribly average for what they're charging.

Assassins Creed must be the most on sale franchise in history.

Yeah, a lot of stuff this week but they're cheeky with Bioshock. All 3 games were £8 together previously. Now they're £8 each!

The 360 BC games are pretty much always the same nowadays.
That said, I got Rotastic for one euro. It's a simple but fun game... shame it only works on the 360.

City of Brass for £1.59 seems like a no brainer.

Sigh.
I'm going to regret this. Aren't I?
It's silly question time, folks!
Now, I fully expect to only get around three responses to this, two of which will be jokes at my expense, and the remaining one a simple "shaking my head" meme.
ANYWAY:
As I've explained elsewhere, my gaming budget is strictly limited to my monthly Game Pass Ultimate sub and whatever MS Reward points I can squeeze out of the system by answering quizzes and clicking on the hateful sports articles.
In other words, my spending on games has to be through the Xbox online store only.
Whenever I go on there, via the Xbox app, I have a good poke around using the Genres, Specials, New, and so on.
But, I always come away thinking that I'm missing something, and that I'm not really seeing everything that's available.
SO: What's everyone's favourite tactic for finding games to purchase via the online store? Am I missing something, or have I got it covered?
Many, and sincere, thanks.

In truth it’s difficult. There is a LOT on the store and much of it does not surface easily. In addition to the above you do, I find it useful to search for a game I like and then look at the recommendations from that. That often highlights a few interesting unknowns.

It's amazing how shit the Xbox and PS digital storefronts still are tbh. Unless you know what you're looking for, it's not easy to find shit by chance.

EMarkM I usually check out majornelson.com each Tuesday to catch on the week's deals and specials, not that I care to purchase much these days with a huge backlog and a GPU subscription...

Brilliant, thanks everyone I do tend to forget about Major Nelson - I'll take a fresh look and see what it adds. Edit: and I really like that "Recommended" idea - not sure I'd even spotted it, so will give it a prod. Really appreciate it: thanks again.

The Trueachievements link from Baihu above is a good place too. They round up the deals every week and you can sort by price etc

Do 360 games go on sale much? The games I most want to play at the moment are the tomb raider ones from that generation, but fucked if I will pay £15 each for them. Are the likely to pop up at any point?

They do go on sale occasionally. Anniversary for example was £2.24 back in January.

It's really annoying you can't just go all games and then view A-Z.
Also annoying they don't have a separate BC section on the main store page(they used to).

Best way is to check Major Nelson's blog, he still divides the deals by platform.
On a side note, the Tomb Raider games do often go on sale. And nowadays, the 360 sales are always the same, so I guess they will be on sale again soon enough.

I want to know why the Lego games get much better discounts in the States than over here. Or maybe they're just cheaper in the first place. I imagine the answer is "something something licensing" or whatever but it's very annoying.
For example, in this week's sales, Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 is down to about five dollars, but it's ten pounds. Similarly, the Harry Potter collection is about $7.99 or something, but is fifteen quid over here.
Hashtag grumble mutter moan.

It's because their base price is more expensive here. I feel you pain, because when I was waiting for Lego City Underground to go on sale on the Switch, I noticed that the standard price was 30 dollars in the USA and 60 euro here. And I think it's still sitting there,

And I think it's still sitting there, Isn’t that due to tax being added in the states on top of the shown price?
