Much as I know people are desperate to discount my opinion here because I'm hella biased or something, the 2 million Heard got is being overstated.

Depp won every part of his defamation case, which can only conclude that Heard lied knowingly about the whole abuse. If they thought any of it happened at all they could not say yes to all counts.

The statement that defamed her was a very specific claim "Amber and her friends spilled a little wine and roughed the place up, got their stories straight under the direction of a lawyer and publicist". Which, okay. I don't really understand how they found that one to be true but the 2 other nearly identical statements not, but anyway.

I haven't followed it and don't give a crap about either of them, but I hope her losing (warranted or not, no idea) doesn't make it harder for women (or men) to come forward about abuse. I suspect it will though.
