It must be karma for saying that TAA is better than MSAA.

I’ve been noticing (and reporting) a lot of those fake Space X accounts. Turns out they are hacked channels that consequently get banned. Will be interesting to hear how they’ve hacked it, what password would Rich have used?

“Sunsetting Digital Foundry”
Hopefully they get the channel back up, I actually watch a lot of their stuff.

Maybe FB should buy and make it part of the metaverse, so it doesn't look like second Life.

The WRC10 release on Switch is fucking dire.

Looking at that video I couldn't see any reason in the point of releasing it on Switch, it looks that bad.

To be fair, I think there are too many trees in games these days.

They saw the art of rally port and said "we can do worse."

Trees or not, lack of analogue trigger support on the Switch kinda nerfs any vaguely serious racing game. Using the analogue stick is shit. Wish Nintendo would sort it out but I know they won't.

I was excited to click on their latest video, but quickly realised PlayStation VRR is not the sequel to PlayStation VR.

I find their Directs so damned dull, honestly. It could be that I'm tired of John and Alex, who do like 85% of the videos these days, so having them rant about per object motion blur or black frame insertion for an hour and a half is not my idea of a good time.
Give me more Tom and Audi from to time.

Audi is great, if a bit hard going for more than a few minutes. It's possible to be *too* dry. Tom always looks terrified and spends more time making "uuuum" and "aaaah" sounds rather than communicating, so is hard going for a different reason. I just kinda wanna shake him and yell "GET TO THE FUCKING POINT!" into his face all the time. It's easy background viewing for me, without really taking muck of it in. Really the intended audience is the people very invested in the channel and the content. It's almost like a Game Tech Top Gear in my mind. I'm not sure which one is the horrible racist in this comparison, though.

Some updates on the VRR stuff having watched DFs take on it. I have an LCD Sony with VRR and when I first changed to the VRR setting, I did notice that the lighting had changed a bit, everything looked a bit muted. Turns out that the local dimming features on LCD TVs are switched off when VRR is enabled. This does mean that image quality is lessened. You should be fine with OLEDs as they are individual lights, only a few issues arise with certain palettes/colours.
A bit of a pity but as was said in the DF article, VRR shouldn't be a back up for publishers not to have a stable framerate in their games in the first place due to many people not having the option.
