Grand Theft Auto Online

The Cayo Perico heist was fine, and nice that you could do it solo. I'm pretty much abandoning it too at the moment though. For me the main pull was earning enough to fill my hangar with the best planes and helis- but I did that, and they hardly ever release new ones.

I'll check out the next gen version when it arrives, but it will have to add a bit more than 4k tuner cars to get me back in.

I have logged in to claim money but haven't got further than doing my free wheel spin. Maybe when the colder weather comes I'll get back on it.

Update- I bought an Agency and I'm properly back into GTA now.

The agency missions add a bit of variety, the banter between Franklin and another returning character is brilliant, and I'm working towards getting one or two of the new cars so I can add a *missile jammer* (haha screw you, Opressor Mk2 griefers).

Also, my daughter's started playing it! Not sure how long it will last, but she saw me doing some vehicle cargo missions, did a few herself, and liked it so much she made her own profile. At first it was a depressing reminder of how much of a grind it is for new players, and I have to admit I bought a shark card for the very first time so she could afford a vehicle warehouse and do the thing she enjoyed in the game. But now she's a bit more established and if she keeps it up, I might finally have someone to crew up with in the game...

As usual it's classic that they haven't shown anything of the next gen version, it's like they've learnt nothing from the Definitive trilogy fiasco.

It's an in-house upgrade though, isn't it? rather than Definitive which was outsourced to another (mobile) dev. Can't see it being a problem - this is their cash-cow, they won't be fucking with it.

There was a trailer 6 months ago. It's GTA5 at a higher resolution/60fps with better LODs and not much else. Although that said I think ray tracing has been added since that trailer so interested to see what that's like.

But basically, we're getting the higher end PC version in effect. May get it seeing as it's less than a tenner on PS5, always wanted to try a GTA game at 60fps

Yeah I know. The fact it's 8 quid for 3 months would suggest it'll be a low effort upgrade though.

There is hope considering Rockstar sort of did that in Read Dead Redemption. It felt so organic finding new things to focus on in the first game, and it wouldn't be to much for them to expand this to side missions and the like. Not sure how much of the main story should be hidden away, but I love how it's done in Elden so it could work very well in GTA6.

Seen a couple of Reddit threads pop up as it has released in some regions from what I can gather.

Well Rockstar have managed to screw the pooch quite considerably if you're a loyal customer. As it presently stands if you had a PS4 or Xbox One GTAO character that you transferred to PC when it first came out you are unable to transfer your PS4/XBO character to PS5/XS.

When that console -> PC transfer happened it was basically a copy operation, your console character and PC one were identical but would diverge from each other like a different time line. Which was fine, anything you did or didn't do on each platform you knew wouldn't have impact on the other. I played on PC online very briefly just to try it out but kept going on PS4 as that's where my friends were.

So now with the new version I can't transfer my GTAO character I started on Xbox 360 then continued on PS4 because I also copied it to PC.

I've got over 28 days of play with my GTAO character, tons of vehicles, properties, businesses etc, I'm not starting again.

They need to fix this pretty sharpish.

From the video I watxhed its 60fps and sharper. Absolutely no difference other than that.

It's not surprising they dropped the expanded and enhanced name, it's really not.
