I know I already said I'm not objective, but I do think the OG animated movie holds up better than basically all the live-action ones. Apart from Bumblebee, which is fantastic. No, you're right. I just didn't read the date bit.
I was a bit confused about how someone could think the Michael Bay movie was anything over a 3/10.
OG Transformers movie was ace.

Cuckoo (at a cinema)
A family goes to build a resort in the Bavarian Alps. The younger daughter is mute and acting strangely, and her older stepsister is prone to making very poor decisions in the context of a horror movie. I don't normally care that much about people being stupid in a horror movie (there wouldn't be much horror otherwise), but she really makes some stinkers.
Anyway, there's a bit of weirdness going on, but not quite enough of it for my tastes. It's decently scary in places, but mostly in a conventional kind of way.
Still recommended, mind. I was just expecting (and hoping for) it to be a little more out there than what I ended up getting.
7/10

Borderlands 6.5/10
I've played the games a bit, but I'm not big on the lore or who all the different characters are supposed to be. The film is ok, its stylish, Claptrap has some great lines. There's one set piece early on the film which is a bit rubbish, but overall its ok - not as bad as Black Panther 2, as a benchmark. I don't know why the critics are giving it such a hard time.
Apart from Jamie Lee Curtis. Her character was ....weird.

I think, I THINK it's because they think it's a piece of shit movie.
Also is BP2 some kind of barometer of what a bad movie is now?

Starve Acre
Not at all what the trailers made it out to be. I assumed it was going to be one of those rural horror stories where it turned out to be all mis-direction and there would be no supernatural element to it, and the whole thing would prove to be a rising psychological tension piece. Not so, but the supernatural element is so half-baked, underwritten and ill explained, it feels like an intrusion into what could otherwise have been a pretty good piece about grief warping the mind.
To call it a slow burn would be an understatement. Without the unnerving sound design, there really wouldn't be much left to call a film. The last five minutes are such a "What the fuck is this?" sequence, I honestly feel it has to be seen to be believed.
Morfydd Clark and Matt Smith do their best with the material, but by fuck there wasn't much to work with from the start.
3/10

I mean, it isn't just critics that are giving Borderlands a hard time; IMDb user scores are at a 4.3. Which is pretty terrible for a franchise that has a lot of people that have already lapped up fairly average games.

Borderlands 6.5/10
… not as bad as Black Panther 2, as a benchmark..
That’s an extremely low benchmark to set it against imo. Playing New Tales from Borderlands atm and i am actually enjoying that despite very poor reviews generally so I’m thinking I might be in a similar place for the film but not sure I’ll go to the cinema for it and wait for digi…

Yeah Black Panther 2 was fine. At worst it was mid.
Outside Xbox have just put a video out saying it’s the worst video game movie ever. That’s a fucking bold claim when Uwe Boll still draws breath.
Also, did they not see Mortal Kombat Annihilation? How quickly we forget.

How have they not seen Dungeon Siege? Alone in the Dark?
Maybe the prerequisite is a video game adaptation with an actual budget and star power.

Sir, you besmirch the star power of Tara Reid. I demand satisfaction.

Bloodrayne is the only Uwe Boll film I've attempted to sit through. I haven't seen Borderlands, but I can pretty safely say that it's not as bad as that.
Fucking hell that was dire!

I think Dungeon Siege is on Youtube if you have a look, it's a mishmash of strangeness. With Jason Statham, Ray Liotta and Burt Reynolds seemingly playing themselves with their own accents in a fantasy medieval movie.

Three MCU films in 2022, Black Panther 2, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Blood & Thunder.
I'd put it second in that three but still far behind Doctor Strange, Namor was a bad antagonist too.
Borderlands is in no way the worst video game movie, especially in a universe where Super Mario Bros exists.

I'd forgotten how bad Love and Thunder was. Almost two hours of a director smelling their own farts.

It is SO bad. It’s on another level of badness. Like right at the end of the eleventh rail down on Amazon Prime bad, next to a film starring Kelly Brook.
Not Piranha 3D. That kicks ass.
Edit: talking about Dungeon Siege here, but Love and Thunder was fucking balls too.

Okay, I'm one of the seven people who genuinely loves Love & Thunder so looking at list I guess I would put BP2 at the bottom. But not by much, I still thought it was good. #MarvelShill

The Borderlands trailer screamed absolute clusterfuck. Rare to see casting looks so obviously wrong. Also, the "story" of the games was shite so weird one to adapt.
Speaking of shit films, I'm naively holding out hope that the new Alien film might be good.

At this point having any kind of elevated hope for an Alien film to be good is just setting yourself up for a fall. I'll probably watch it on my birthday but I'm going in with low expectations.
