Ghostwatch was a little before my time (I should look to see if it is available to watch anywhere). From what I know though, it is very similar.
Edit - Actually, not before my time. I assumed It was 80s. It was 1992, so I would have been 5.

I loved Perfect Days (and Kenny, though they're very different minutes). I think there should be more stories about people who take genuine pride in their work. Like Jiro Dreams of Sushi but for toilets. Jiro Dreams of Shit Stains Jiro Dreams of Poopies

I was in my early twenties for watching Ghostwatch live, it was bloody effective.
It's on YouTube if anyone was too young/not even alive when it was on originally.

Valley Girl (1983)
Teen / Rom-com(?) with a very early Nic Cage.
It's apparently a bit of a cult classic, which sometimes means you need to cut the movie a bit of slack. In this case however I just found it pretty terrible. It's a kind of Romeo & Juliet story, but it's lacking any depth and I couldn't really bring myself to care about the 2 main characters. Nic Cage appears bored or stoned thoughout. Not sure if that's intentional, but it's not very appealing. The female lead is at least a better actor, but her character is so shallow and such a pushover that it's hard to really care for her.
Maybe that's all the point, in a kind of ironic takedown of teen movies, but it's also dull and uninvolving and none of the characters seem to really care, so why should we.
A couple of decent songs in the soundtrack is the main highlight.
2/10
PS/ The poster / cover shot in no way represents the movie. The girl in the poster isn't even in the movie, and nic cage never really looks like that.
PPS/ It has the studio mandated amount of boob shots.
PPPS/ There's a musical remake from 2020 which stars Jessica Rothe, which kinda makes me want to watch it. But on the other hand, this sucked so how good can the remake be?
[edit:] Oh, I forgot I was gonna give it a bonus point for showing a bar in LA that I've been to. So 3/10 I guess.

The Fellowship Of The Ring
Pretty much the perfect movie. I love the whole trilogy but this one is just incredible. Also shout out to the movies score. Up there with Star Wars with some of the most iconic themes running throughout.
100/100

Just seen Zone of Interest is up on Prime. That's one I definitely want to watch, but think I might have to be in the right mindset.

Late Night with the Devil
It's that last series that Alan Partridge did, but horror instead of comedy and 70s America instead of present day UK.
Really good. The ending is a bit overdone and the James Randi pastiche was a bit on the nose, but yeah. Really good.
7.6/10

Priscilla: Queen of the Desert
Love this film and it’s crazy how influential it is. Arguably there’s be no Drag Race without it. And as someone who bought Ru Paul make up for my niece last Christmas it’s kind of moving to see how it went from a tiny Australian Indy film to the mainstream.
10/10

It's a film that I'm glad I watched but I'll never watch again.

Paris is Burning is another “how did this become a billion dollar franchise” moment too.

Monkey Man - 10/10
Possibly the most perfect modern action movie I’ve ever seen. Visceral, perfectly shot, social commentary, mythology, great story. Watch it

Everything has ads in theory but I think I've only had a handful in total across a couple of films and 2 complete series of things. Paying for the ad free version is a bit pointless, except I think you get 4k etc. on some things.

Casino Royale (2006): 6/10
Bond films date quickly. The mid-2000s haircuts and fashion look really bad. Check out my cool Ford Mondeo and my full-colour Sony Ericsson mobile.
Ugh. Also Vesper being moved to tears because Bond sets the password to her name: come on.

I wonder how low you rate the rest of the Bond films if that one only got a 6.

My guilty secret about Casino Royale, is that I almost never keep watching it beyond the poker game.

We were all excited to have a new Bond which masked its flaws at the time. I actually prefer Quantum of Solace: 90 mins, bim bam bosh, cool intro in Sienna, Cuba yay, opera yay, Mathieu Almaric wants to steal water, boo

I can't decide if this is true or not. It makes sense logically, as they tend to focus on the cutting edge in tech, and need to be fashionable, etc..
And yet I was quite happy watching Goldfinger or Spy Who Loved me every bank holiday for 20 years. Even by the time I first saw Goldfinger it must have been about 20 years old.

This, the Connery, Moore and dalton ones seem to have dated in a good way. I don’t think history will be kind to the Craig movies especially, he was a shite bond and the films are generally cack

The thing with Bond films is that they're mostly entertaining movies but they're not what you'd call good films and that's perfectly fine.

My mistake, some things have stopped being in 4k and that seems erratic for different people but it's dolby vision and atmos that's gone. www.whathifi.com/features/im-furious-about-amazon-prime-videos-new-prices-and-not-because-of-the-ads

I don’t think history will be kind to the Craig movies especially, he was a shite bond and the films are generally cack Think that is a minority opinion. I would expect most people would rate him as their favourite Bond and those who wouldn't, would rate him as their second favourite. He has had some critically poor films (Quantum of Solace and Spectre), but the others are very well regarded, both by the public and critically (QoS often gets reassessed more positively too). Best Bond film lists will regularly have Skyfall and Casino Royale at least in the top 10, sometimes top 5. Just going by Rotten Tomatoes, Casino Royale is 4 and Skyfall at 5 (No Time to Die is 7). Some of that will be recency bias, although you could also say some of the Connery films are more revered than they should be.

There’s not a lot of recency bias on all of those, CR is 20 years old now.

Not sure why Question of Sport sometimes gets critically re-evaluated, it's rubbish. I'd argue Skyfall isn't all that good either, it has some good action sequences and is well directed, but I can't look past how utterly preposterous the villain's plan is. No Time to Die was decent with the exception of the fact that they seemingly forgot to give the villian an actual motivation for his actions at the end.
Casino Royale is excellent though. I don't think Craig had a bad run.
