I actually quite like Escape from L.A, now that is.
Don't get me wrong it totally crushed my soul upon seeing it for the first time in the mid 90's, especially as New York is one of my absolute favourites.
It's almost a parody of the first film to be honest, watched with that expectation it's quite entertaining all these years later.
The ending is great regardless though.

Starship Troopers needs to be added. I class that as sci fi and I also watch it at least twice a year as it's very possibly my favourite movie

I'm not sure it's really 'action'. But I'm not sure where else I'd put it.

You forgot "Made of Steel" with Charlie Sheen. Maybe it's not pure action, though, but good film.
Ah, wait, it's actually called "Beyond the Law" in English.

Yeah LA is utter dross. Anything after In The Mouth of Madness is just awful Carpenter.

Deep Cover and Beyond the law added, not seen either of them before.

Deep Cover is a banger. I'd say more of a thriller than an action film, but still well worth a watch.

Needs more Seagal… Got to add Hard to Kill purely for the line “I’m gonna take YOU to the bank Senator Trent… The blood bank!” Best. Quote. Ever.

I’ve got a big soft spot for Death Train.
Terrible title but its Bronhom and Picard doing Die Hard on a train.

I just remembered one my mate recommended years ago The Salute of the Jugger. Rutger Hauer in a bit of apocalyptic action.

Speaking of Rutger Hauer, The Hitcher is a classic.

The Last Boy Scout probably the pick of that huge list of iffy films for me, writing really crackles, even today
In a Valley of Violence 5/10 Was in the mood for a good Western over the weekend, this was a Western at least.
Could have done without the comedy dog, it just annoyed me, John Wick avengement tool.
Ethan Hawk was fine in the lead, and John Travolta actually does a good job, but it was missing something.

Robot Jox is sci fi isn't it?
Also the Hitcher is thriller/horror
The salute of the Jugger? way to obscure...
I will add Steel Dawn though (which nobody has mentioned), I'm always up for more snake hips in his prime :-)
