Porting Shadow Gangs to the Dreamcast requires £140,000. At 38% through the Kickstarter campaign it's at 8% of that goal.

Talking of shadowgangs I played Shinobi earlier today. Fuck, it’s a hard game. Gave up on the third level, proper brutal
And people think Dark Souls is a hard game!

Even if I'm feeling really generous, asking 140 grand for a port of a game which has all of 20 Steam reviews seems like they put an extra couple of zeroes on the end. If I'm feeling less generous, given that he said he hasn't broken even on the other versions then my assumption is he's trying to shake down a niche console community.

I like that there’s two reward tiers that are identical, only one has 17 available. It speaks volumes about the level of care and quality that goes into this production.

As soon as I learned how to make games, I started making them:

Kickstarter cancelled and new one created with a more sensible funding goal, also it now only needs £200,000 for the sequel.

Pretty much. This is why I'll never go down the rabbit hole of getting a new game for a retro console. Might as well put your money into those Limited Run releases for Switch as they go for mental prices.
