Apparently, the reason is that there is a heat dome over the west coast of the USA which is throwing the Jet Stream out of whack, meaning we are getting winds from the arctic.
There's people dying from the heat in the US and we're moaning about having to wear a cardie in June.

My eldest is on his first ever camp tonight with his Cubs group. Forecast says it will be 6 degrees and thunderstorms. 6 degrees at night in mid June, shambolic. Our central heating flicked itself back on on Thursday morning as the house dropped below the threshold temp, think I had it set to 15degrees.

I'm in the middle of the most perfectly timed two week holiday ever. Forecast for the first week was torrential rain, but we packed up the car and headed away for what ended up being an absolutely lovely week in Norfolk (apart from Great Yarmouth... What a massive shithole!)
Followed by a week at home with the weather in the mid twenties. Glorious!
Next week when I'm back in work is looking like 18 degrees and rain. Not that I have any faith left in long range forecasts any more...
I realise that I've probably tempted fate with this, but a couple of rainy days stuck indoors catching up on games I haven't bothered playing would actually cap it off nicely...

too warm for my liking. preferred the temp last week.
just glad i went to the Elan Valley 2 weeks ago, was a pleasant 19 degrees and lovely to walk in, wouldnt be able to do shit if it was like this

I've been sweating like a running tap all day in the heat and sunshine, and now that I've finished work and I'm waiting the half hour for the bus, a black cloud has rolled in with a cold breeze. The one time I leave my jacket in the house.

I’ve given up this time and it’s now 27 degrees in the bedroom. Part of the reasoning is because it ‘looks scruffy’ to have blinds drawn in the day. I’m like, have you seen where we live 😂 |
