It is BACK
and it is still great. Last season was ok (the overarching plot of the revenge coffee shop was kind of lame, but I donโt think anything will top the MAGA hat as a social repellant)
Albert Brooks is great as well, seems like theyโre setting him up to be a regular, which has some good meta to it with Funkhouser (Bob Einstein is his late real life brother) and more Jon Hamm is always good.

Ahh, I had no idea Funkhauser and Albert Brooks were related. For some reason, I was thinking he was the son of Mel Brooks, but I think I was confusing him with Max.
But yeah, I enjoyed it. I'm glad it's back.

Right up there as one of my all time favourite comedy shows. LD is such a great character and I love the writing and winding plotlines of each episode - along with a great cast of supporting actors and guest stars.
Watched the first episode of the new season (11) last night and it was fucking great, plenty of vintage Larry and I assume the Netflix story will be the main thread of this season.
I always start new seasons of Curby with trepidation "what it it's gone shit?" but feel confident in what's to come after that. Anyone else a fan or seen S11E01 yet?

Watched it last night. It was reassuringly good.
Enjoyed the rare bit of slapstick, and Larry David still has that unique gift for identifying and riffing on petty and minor yet entirely universal social faux pas. 'plopping'

Massive Curb fan and delighted Larry is back.
I think the plotting of the most recent seasons has definitely gone up a notch. Much of the fun is in seeing how the different strands come together in the end - usually with Larry getting caught out in some huge elaborate lie.
There are some great cameos this season, but I personally think it works best when the OG cast are on screen together riffing. The very best episodes are usually some kind of Larry, Cheryl, Jeff, Suzie, Richard, Funkman, Leon combo.

Any scene with "Larrr" and Suzie is fucking golden, or the long suffering Jeff conspiring against her with the help of LD. If I had the time I'd love to do a full Curb re-watch, shame it's not on any streaming service*
*I know it's on Sky on Demand but their UI is such a mess...just all episodes dumped into a "Curb" folder without any chronology of either seasons or even episodes.

I will never tire of hearing Suzie say the word "decapitated". Her theme is awesome too.

Rated the first episode of the new series.
Curb must surely be the most consistently great long running comedy. From "The Pants Tent" all the way through the newest one, LD knocks it out the park.

That was a cracking episode. Probably one of the most juvenile bits of comedy they've done in a while, but done so well. Tracey Ullman is excellent as always. Leon "selling the car" was absolutely priceless. Feels sad to be counting down the remaining episodes, but great to finish on a high.

With Jerry Seinfeld's recent comments on the Seinfeld finale not being done, and with the plot of this season leading to a legal trial, I do wonder if it's going to be meta and end with Larry being jailed for what would really be the inverse of the Good Samaritan law.

Another really good one, feel like we've got through a big chunk of the cast's goodbye cameos already.

Slowly making my way though this final series trying to savour them and watch only when I'm in the right mood to give full attention. All very good so far.
Richard Lewis looks so frail and ill. I guess nice that he was able to participate at all but it's almost a bit uncomfortable.

You know Lewis passed away last month? Was weird actually, spoke to a mate and fellow Curb fan the night before and specifically mentioned, like you, how frail he looked - and then he died the day after that phonecall. In that respect I'm glad he played his final part in the final season of Curb.

Yeah I did, so I thought I was prepared, but his condition was a still a shock. He looks far older than 76.
I guess his substance abuse years caught up with eventually. From reading an obituary, it sounds like he had a life well lived.

He looked like he was about to die for the last few seasons. Came as no surprise at all to hear that he had really.

RE the latest episode. Larry's reaction during the Ken/Kendra scene felt a bit much. I get that the series has always embraced the taboo with Larry usually being the butt of the joke, but that just felt a bit unpleasant. Springsteen was also a shit cameo. Don't give up the day job...

Trump, Putin, Larry David.
Great finale episode. Perfect way to close it out.
