Only out a few days ago, this deckbuilding roguelike looks intriguing for Halloween:

It looks good and it's been reviewing well, Eurogamer gave it an essential which is a bit higher than what most have given it.
I was hoping some of you would buy it and let me know what it's like.
Pc only at the moment though.

Just played the first couple of rounds. I like it thus far.

Ok, started to play this last night and it ended up as one of those "just one more go"... "oh look its past bed time"... "I've really got to pull myself away but I've just spotted another clue"...
So I'm only a couple of hours in and yes, its bloody fantastic. I hope it holds out through its story/acts/whatever meta stuff is going on.
There's a demo if people are unsure or think it might not be up there alley. For me, I bought it straight away having played through the demo.

I started the demo. I'm interested but, does it rely on you being good enough at the card game to win games to progress? Because there was a part of The Hex where I got stuck because I simply hadn't got the reflexes to get past it and I would have carried on otherwise.

You need to have a certain skill, but as you don't hold loads of cards and only have a playing surface of 4 I've not found it too complex yet.
It appears that each time you play you get a set of cards that get randomly added to and you get to add some. Don't want to spoil anything so thats all I'll say. So as you play you get better as a result, I suspect the game wants you to lose so that you upgrade as you go, again don't want to spoil anything. But there is more to it than the card game.
However I'm still in the first part of the game (I'm guessing) and am not sure what is around the corner. Maybe others that have played can elaborate on that.

Card game is simple but you will lose for a while whilst you get some things sorted out. Just get the puzzles solved around the cabin asap.

I may be reading too much into it, but I think it’s funny and possibly insightful that there’s no further discussion on this game. It’s definitely better appreciated going in blind.
Anyway I’ve put a couple of dozen hours into it since it hit Game Pass, and it’s hands down the best game I’ve played this year.
I will now continue the tradition of not spoiling it by talking about it

I absolutely loved this game. It made me go and check out the devs other games which I also enjoyed. But Inscryption definitely something special! Edit: good Halloween choice for anyone looking!

Been playing this since it was added to Game Pass and finished my first run last night. What a game! Thought I'd leave it a while before starting another run but nope, I'm back in the cabin already. Agree it's definitely best going in blind.

Had a special run with a death card and a squirrel statue that allowed to search the deck for a card when a squirrel is played. I could usually win every non-boss fight in the first turn with this combo. Here is a picture of the Leshy fight:
