New game coming from the Stardew Valley people. youtu.be/kJy7LF789loStardew Valley is probably my most-played game of the last four years, so I’m pretty interested in what they do next, even if it’s just more of the same.

Is it about the morning after a particularly potent curry?

Absoultely fantastic news, I've been waiting eagerly to hear what Eric Barone would be doing next. Seemingly very similar to Stardew Valley in many respects but more of an action RPG according to the man himself.
Very exciting, I want it now!

That looks very similar to Stardew which is no problem at all as I pumped hours into that game. I can't wait for this, it's a definite day 1 buy for me.

Despite owning it on 2 different platforms for years I've only just managed to get in to Stardew Valley. About to hit winter of year 1.
Not sure the ARPG direction is my favourite (I see the mines as a bit of a chore,) but will wait and see.

I see the mines as a chore because of the whole having to get back home in time aspect. If that's not an issue or is mitigated better then I'd probably enjoy this more than Stardew Valley.

I wonder if the Roald Dahl estate could be persuaded to allow a strategy/sim game where you run the Wonka chocolate factory, the whole works, Oompa Loopa's, experimental products with bizarre side effects etc.

I’d like to see a Wonka game that is survival horror for shit kids. You play as various shit kids who have to survive Wonka’s PG-Saw ironic traps.

Verucca Salt crawling through rotting garbage, regretting throwing the tantrum that got her the golden ticket, Augustus Gloop getting the Mr. Creosote treatment. Mike TV getting put in the stretching machine.

I’m thinking that, as player, you have to help the kids express their shitness with a reward-risk mechanic. Eg, they all want to evade capture by the Oompa Loompas, but Gloop also wants to collect treats, Mike TV wants to be seen on security cameras (in the world’s first unstealth game) It might be better to come up with a new roster of shit kids who desire specific things that are easier to gameify than “chews bubblegum” but maybe violet is just rolling away from capture post-expansion and can vomit gum from her mutated body to various effects.
