Is Stellaris any good?
Specifically the console version. And how friendly would it be to a filthy casual?
All this Star Trek bingeing has me wanting my own Federation
Talk about other games too

Stellaris is good, but it takes some time to learn all the mechanics. Also, the endgame crisis events are fucking hard.
I think I prefer Endless Space over Stellaris.

Used to play Stellaris loads, but quite steep learning curve from the outset, and major updates (which are free, so pretty great) change fundamental game mechanics. Tried to get back into it recently but so different would be like learning a whole new game.

Another good one is Sins of a Solar Empire.

If you’re console based I’d suggest looking at Age of Wonders:Planetfall. Stellaris is good but it does have a steep learning curve as has been said. Honourable mention: Civ 6
I think Crusader Kings (3?) is coming to console too but that is also heavy!
