I know there is the option to chip in some funds to keep everything ad free, but I assume there are more cost efficient ways to help keep the forum going than people chipping in a quid here and there. There is also the fact that I assume there are peaks and troughs of funding as subs run out on month end etc.
So may as well ask if there is a better way to do this? Maybe have a central pot to donate to? Eg I trust Neilka enough to drop some funds into an account that he can use to top up rather than me spend 6 quid on something that may expire.
Not to put more responsibility on Neilka or whoever would control, but just an option I would like to throw out there.

You add the funds and select an option to let neilka decide how/when to use them? When people just 'top up', I assume it's because the ads are back and they want to get rid of them immediately

This reminds me of how Neogaf was originally set up.
Same with Rllmukforum.

Higgy was tame compared to the Rllmuk politikers. elstoof It was the fontgeek equivalent of the Edge forums closing, but they're about 10 years old now
