I’d already planned to take my youngest to a few United games next season. She now can’t wait after that goal scored by Toone.
Let’s just hope that the money properly starts filtering in as I feel it’s now on the cusp of being massive.
Also anything that takes the limelight of the men’s game is highly appreciated.

Staveley was promising to start building up NUWFC into a professional side over the next five (I think she said) years. They’re in the second amateur tier now so they’ve got a few divisions to climb but as we’ve seen with sides like City and United the FA isn’t adverse to giving clubs willing to spend a leg up when it comes to inviting money into the game. Which as a Durham supporter makes me feel hard done by but as a fan of a game its also the obvious way forward. |

I feel like the men’s team becoming likeable under Southgate and losing their final just made this even sweeter because the Lionesses have always been likeable and the entire sport is an underdog endeavour. Basically the men gave us a great warm up act for tonight.

Holding the woman's team up as being superior / better is a type of benevolent sexism and is actually pretty disconcerting to be seeing so much off at the moment. |
