It pisses me off. NZ toured Pakistan last year every game empty stadium.
Now a fucking world cup game in India. Two big teams plus they roped in Tendulkar to appear.
Empty.
If you can't sell tickets give them away.

Pakistan absolutely shat it up. Some decent bowling and reviews by India but some of the shots were fucking village.

That stadium is still not at capacity. If it can't sell out India vs Pakistan it's in the wrong place and or oversized.

Definitely a massive factor, but Indian cricket fans generally only care about Indian cricket. The opening game between reigning champs (England) and beaten finalists (NZ) looked to be about 10% full and that's not an exaggeration. So a combo of cost and Indian fan mindset is making for some terrible crowds.... at least the semis and final sold out, Indians must be confident (and rightly so, I think!). |
