Yeah I've just set San Andreas downloading - the nostalgia will be worth a couple of hours at least, and Game Pass makes it a decision with no downsides

Weird arms aside, San Andreas look alright tbh. Can see me playing through it again. Might be slightly more miffed if I’d paid 50 quid for it mind you. Truly. Top comment on Reddit GTA really shows how at least the environments are improved:  |

The only thing I've seen that will properly irritate me is the lack of fog on the San Andreas map that adds to the sense of scale. The screenshots I've seen from in planes and stuff makes the world look like a train set.

Performance seems pretty wonky, but it's still making me want to play Vice City. Guess I'll keep playing to see how gun combat is at least.
Contrast seems totally fucked. Could barely make out Tenpenny's face in the opening bit... Seems to be a common complaint on Reddit and I can't really be arsed fiddling with settings.

Yeah I had to set the contrast slider to Zero and it still looks shit. Brightness slider barely works. Wonky.

Re: the contrast - I just went to the barber and couldn't see any difference whatsoever in the short hairstyles. Poor show.
Also, they may have retrofitted the controls from GTA V, but the movement sure doesn't feel like GTA V - quite a bit more "twitchy", prone to oversteer/overrunning, but maybe that's an accurate reflection of San Andreas, it's been so long I can't remember.
What I really want to do is fly over the entire map, but I'm not sure I can be bothered to do all the missions needed to unlock it.

Yeah I'm glad I didn't drop fifty notes on this, but SA kinda looks ok. Just did the first save point. I might play through it for "free".
The loss of so many tunes really sucks also, especially on Vice City.

Ah yeah Skyrim is out isn't it. I'll download that as well. Look forward to trying it on the 3rd generation in a row where I'll play it up until the point I have to fight something, remember how utterly toss it is, and uninstall it.
