My dad is basically Jeremy Corbyn without the attitude to a certain chosen people, so I’m expecting similar from the opposite direction tomorrow. Or we’ll sit around opening presents with Al Jazeera on in the background. On today, I think the volume I’ve shovelled in to digest this afternoon means any Christmas lovemaking is off the table tonight. I feel like I’m full enough that if I opened my mouth you’d see it. Thanks babe. I'm feeling a bit bloated. Maybe tomorrow.

Because we're apparently extremely middle class (according to Richard Osman) we've only just opened our presents.
Super Mario Wonder and Mario Rabbids in amongst the haul, but the one I've been dying to use is a loose leaf tea brewer for my growing rooibos collection.

Lord have mercy. 8pm and I'm popping cold sprouts straight outta the fridge like they're malteasers.

Merry Christmas We do one present before church, then the rest after, and before the Christmas meal. We did the rotation to my parents this year. They've seemingly suddenly got old as their organization was shocking, and I had to keep going to shop to get stuff all Sat/Sunday. And they hadn't planned out anything so I took charge and did most of the meal prep. And then one of the ovens blooming gave out midway prep! Luckily just after the turkey had come out. Still meant doing the potatoes, parsnips stuffing, brussel sprouts, and a glazing of a ham I had cooked earlier, for 12, had to be done in one of those smaller top oven/grills. It was luckily still a success in the end...

Feliz Navidad fellow font geeks! Had a terrible night with the girls last night. They’ve both had a cold/flu virus for about 2 months (no exaggeration) that they can’t seem to shake and they were both up at various points in the night. I got to sleep after 1 and was awoken at 5:45 by the boy. Not happy! Good thing is we have no company today so an afternoon snooze may be in order. Hope everyone has a great day! Sadly, there was no afternoon naps to be had today. Kids only just gone to bed. Plenty of tantrums due to extremely tired and, to be fair, slightly unwell kids. Dinner was particularly stressful but tasted good! Everyone seemed happy with what they got. All in all, pretty good day.

Quite hungover today to be honest, just the ticket for putting together football goals or other kids stuff but ended OK and goddammit if I didn't watch all of Die Hard 2 without falling asleep too! Might give 3 ago tom.

What happened to the other Christmas thread? Was it closed for this one? Someone mentioned a site that lets you find 3D prints in it that I was trying to both find and thank the poster for. Jambowayoh I think it might have been you? But I was really drunk by the end of yesterday! 😅

My signature boxing day sandwich: Take two thick slices of crusty white bread. Liberally spread mayonnaise on one, crunchy peanut butter on the other. Fill with a generous amount of leftover sliced turkey breast and halved green olives. You can thank me later. Once again, it was a masterpiece.

Mayonnaise and peanut butter sound like a trip to the Poo Diaries thread.

Once again, it was a masterpiece. I tried this for the first time last year, can confirm. Frankly that combo sounds a bit psychotic, that said I'd like to try this I really would but I'm not really keen on peanut butter or olives so somewhat skeptical (also we never have turkey) but I think if someone presented this to me to try I'd certainly give it a go.

This is a bit like those reviews you get under online recipes that say “I substituted the peaches with carrots because I didn’t have carrots, and the flour with corn starch, also I don’t like almonds so I used cat litter, anyway it was horribly dry and chalky, 1 star” To be fair you did say you’d try it

So my mum got my other half this... er, mushroom ornament for Christmas. Not quite a toblerone, but still.

There's no way that's coming back out.
At least a Toblerone would melt.

Christ, 2023 can't end soon enough.
I have a dying cat. Then, this weekend I discover my last remaining childhood cat (19!!) is dying, basically in front of my eyes but no vet availability. We are about to embark on spending a fortune on fertility treatment with like a 20% chance of success. I'm awaiting the medical results from a visit to the doctor about a weird mole. And to top off, my sister-in-law spent about 3 hours crying and talking to MY parents about how my brother works too much (true) and isn't there for her and his kid (probably true), whilst he was asleep in the other room.
MERRY CHRISTMASSSSSSSS

Mayonnaise and peanut butter sound like a trip to the Poo Diaries thread. It’s probably an easier sell to call it turkey satay, which it’s not far from.
