Seconded. Although 'online seminar' doesn't sound much better tbh. Sound more like a specific kink site on onlyfans...

Sounds more like something you'd say just before a bus runs you over...

Sounds more like something you'd say just before a bus runs you over... I saw a kid get his leg run over by a bus once. Afterwards, he just got up and walked off. Might have just been the adrenalive but he seemed fine
It was a double decker too

When a complete stranger hands me something I've paid for saying "here you go my love/my darling", I get a strong urge to reply "thanks, sugar tits". But by the same token this is awesome in the West Country when they call you "my lover" or "young sir" or something like that.

"Scrum down"
"Let's meet at 8am and have a scrum down about the upcoming changes"
Normally said by someone wearing a gillet

It's some agile bollocks.
It wound me up when people used those kind of terms in work despite us not actually using the methodology. I'm sure it's great if you use it well, but you can't just cherry pick random bits and pieces FFS!

And unnecessary spaces before or after punctuation. A space before a question or exclamation mark is the hallmark of the half-witted internet commenter. But it's especially annoying with slashes. 'Either / or' seems to be standard now and it's a fucking travesty - you only use spaces for phrases or fucking verse you fucks. To be fair that's just how a lot of Europe punctuates. You massive xenophobe.

I prefer actually delivering projects though rather than talking about them every morning so declined. None of our squads have produced a thing in over a year.

Scrums can work well if you're properly invested in agile, but as previously mentioned a lot of places half-arse it into the Ops part of DevOps and forget about the Dev side then use it as general task management, which sucks for everyone. And then outside of the development domain, agile project management is a decent thing but so many PPPMs and PMOs are anchored into waterfall it's square peg in round hole time.

There are a lot of very poor scrum masters and a lot of demand. Which doesn't help.

Not really, it's pretty solid methodology. But like Load said, a lot of people are just flat out shit at it and treat the certification as a checkbox on a resume rather than an actual skill.
