Not technically a game but I just launched my lockdown project on Steam for a mere £4: store.steampowered.com/app/1631280/The_JeanPaul_Software_Screen_Explosion/It's a collection of OpenGL-powered, 3D, multi-monitor, customisable screensavers, with a focus on generative art. The 'clever' thing it does is allow you to calibrate your screens with their physical locations, so you can have the impression of a single giant screen, with the gaps in between the screens taken into account. I've not seen anyone attempt that before, but when it's all lined up properly it's a really nice effect. There's seven at launch of varying complexity- 'Pylons of the World' showcases pylons, from around the world; 'Probably Enough Fish' is an experiment in getting mass flocking simulation running in a compute shader; 'The Sublimnotron' allows you to hypnotise people whilst displaying them subliminal messages of your choice; plus four more that are quite fun, and I'll be adding more, as it's turned into quite a fun hobby. Basically I started dicking around with OpenFrameworks and wondered if I could build something that could turn all the monitors I have into a single giant screen. So I did that, then I kept dicking around, and now I'm selling it. It probably won't melt your computer.

I've made a Christmas update called 'North Pole Logistics'- video here:
Due to population increase and concerns about delivering presents in person during a world-wide pandemic, Santa has embraced mechanisation, recycled the majority of his elves, and moved over to present sorting by drone.

It's like a vision of the future where Jeff Bezos has bought Christmas

I have never heard such sinister jingling bells. I'm not really set-up for doing music for trailers so that's two samples of jingle bells over an 'industrial noise' royalty-free recording, and some random low tones generated by Audacity. I think it gets the concept across. The screensaver itself doesn't have any sound, but I'm tempted to add an option.

Interesting couple of days on this.
I released version 1.0, then got a very nice write-up on RPS (https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/this-new-3d-screensaver-collection-includes-a-driving-tour-of-global-pylons), and then an *even nicer* write up from Christian on Eurogamer: (https://www.eurogamer.net/in-praise-of-screensavers)
Probably all downhill from here but I'm enjoying my moment in the sun

A good review from Alice0 is pretty much the pinnacle of any software developer's career. It is all downhill from there but only because you're on top of the world. Liked the trailer a lot.

Two -rather silly- questions:
1. Does it have to be a multi-monitor setup or can I run it on my single-monitor one? 2. Does it have to run from within steam or can I set it up as a regular screensaver?
Potential buyer here!

Does it have to run from within steam or can I set it up as a regular screensaver? Potential buyer here! 1. It'll run just fine on a single monitor 2. It runs like a regular screensaver just fine (there wouldn't have been much point otherwise!). If you don't have Steam running normally it just won't trigger achievements and the like; you can also turn off the Steam integration completely in the settings if you don't want to spam your friends list with notifications that your screensaver is on.

Thank you for the prompt reply, you just got yourself another sale; keep up the good work!
Edit: just a minor suggestion (probably with major work necessary): it would be great if one could check out the selected screensaver, prior to saving and running the application (unless I'm missing something)...

Hey, thanks! Easiest way to preview at the moment is to open the Windows screensaver select window and use the preview button that's there, but you're right- a "test now" button would be useful. I'll see what I can do. Also if you could leave a review I'd be super grateful, I need at least ten from people who have paid to get the rating to show up on the store page and right now I've got six.

Another happy customer, great stuff! Will leave a review shortly. I'd love to know how these are made, but it would probably go over my head.
