One thing to note. If you test positive while on holiday you can't re-enter the UK and will have to pay for an isolation hotel in Portugal for 10 days.

It's precisely that which puts me off going abroad

Is that the case if you're vaccinated as well?

Yeah that's the roll of the dice that turns a holiday into a fucking nightmare.
Especially with a family.

Is that the case if you're vaccinated as well? It was for me last week. Not sure if it's changed recently. Pretty nervous wait for that result.

Fuck going on holiday for a while then, that anxiety defeats the point of a relaxing holiday.

My brother has gone to Tenerife this week with a load of his drinking buddies. It looks like hell. Swapping Spoons for Spoons in the Sun. With even the same people.

Fuck going on holiday for a while then, that anxiety defeats the point of a relaxing holiday. A lot of places like Italy, Spain and France have a fraction of UK cases, people are wearing masks everywhere and often only allowed vaccinated or tested places into any indoor public space. You're probably less likely to get it there than at home tbh. I just spent 3 1/2 weeks in Spain and was impressed how seriously it's still being taken there, a large percentage of masks are FFP2 ones, people wear them everywhere, often outdoors as well. Restaurants will disinfectant your hands for you at the entrance, no polite requests. Plus you can eat/drink outdoors pretty much all the time.

Add a 3yr daughter old into the mix and our chances of exposure to it are probably a bit higher than if me and my wife went by ourselves.

Cheers, yeah had to get private tests Bit stupid that all the NHS tests are being used for schools etc yet they aren't accepted for travel? What's the point of them if they aren't deemed accurate enough. Don't mind about the text messages and calls Isn't it more that if an individual wishes to travel abroad they should pay for the privilege? I don't see why my tax should help fund your hols?

Same reason my tax pays for your addidas joggers I jest. Private Tests all booked, hotel booked, absolutely buzzing to be going away.

I spend his taxes on sparkly red thongs which I wear to make money as a cash in hand stripper (not addidas).
I've made 7.50 this week already.
Fuck the system.

Yeah, cheers mate, nearly all back up and running.
Used to live in joggers when I was WFH and didn't need to leave the house. Now I have to be presentable for the school run. Apparently.
