Well done on the govt for making the rules as complicated as possible so im turning to the (ex) EG hive mind
We are travelling to portugal on the 4th october for 3/4 days
One of us is fully vaccinated - the other is not vaccinated.
Which tests do i need? Which do i take beforehand and which ones do i need to take on the way back
Do i need to take the tests with me in my luggage? Im old and confused?

The unvaccinated person can look forward to ten days isolation and two expensive PCR tests when you get back. So that’s something to look forward to.

Pre covid test flying back because the first test will have expired. Will have to do this somewhere in Portugal or the Airport.
Day 2 and 8 tests in the uk

For some reason they don't accept NHS tests.
The passenger locator form requires a test booking with a code. So just make sure whatever you test book meets the requirements. That all gets matched up when you get back.
Expect to get pinged with an alert when you get back as I got a barrage of text messages and a call as someone on the flight had a positive test.

Cheers, yeah had to get private tests
Bit stupid that all the NHS tests are being used for schools etc yet they aren't accepted for travel? What's the point of them if they aren't deemed accurate enough.
