I've been playing this for a while now and really loving it. As you say, one guy, very passionate about making something that feels good to play and isn't just a bunch of canned broken animations (coughMaddencough).
Regardless, American Football game which evokes the spirit of SWOS? Where do I hand over my organs?

Just picked this up but....did you guys have any problems with the controller - specifically every time you're asked to 'Press A/X to skip'? It doesn't work for me, even though I can play the game fine otherwise. I can't skip anything, which means I have to wait until the game goes through all the pre-game stuff, guys go into the huddle every time, and I can't get past the 'Press A to continue' 10 seconds into the tutorial.
Seeing anything like that?

Yeah, I saw some of those threads, and changing the controller config does nothing, unfortunately. It's so odd because using a 360 or a PS4 controller, I can start the game, actually complete passes etc, but I cannot get past any 'Continue/Skip' prompt. There's one of these after every single play and I have to wait until the whole thing plays out every time, which is killing it for me. Mind, I don't think I've managed to get a pass off yet without being sacked. I gave up an online Madden league in part due to slowing reflexes, it's deja vu all over again.  |

Ahhhh....it appears to be because I had a flight stick plugged in as well. Seems to be sorted now.

The passing is really hard at first but once it clicks it's great.
If you join the games discord there are mods for NFL teams and someone's made a franchise mode mod.

The guy who made it put a tutorial up on YouTube to explain the passing, but it generally boils down to tap to do a lob pass, and longer to do a bullet pass, with a wild throw more likely if you go into the red bounce back area. If your QB is moving while you throw that will reduce accuracy, so best to throw stationary.
The stats make a big difference too. There are some QBs with crappy arms in the game, which affects the speed of the bar and the result.
I'm generally fine with the mechanics of the throwing, kicking etc. Biggest issue I find currently is some dodgy CB diving when they're the last defender.

Yeah, my big issue with the passing so far is me tending to hold down the pass button, I need to train myself out of that.
There’s a fair bit to get to grips with, I’m looking forward to spending some time figuring it out. I’m kind of burned out on the real NFL so I won’t investigate that mod yet.
