Played a bit more of P3P on my commute and then a bit more in bed. It's starting to get its hooks into me now thanks to the Switch, but I almost definitely would've dropped it if I'd started the GP version instead.
It feels a bit weird to just be let off the leash so early on. Got to the floor 16 barrier in Tartarus on the first visit thanks to the healing/SP refills, so have just been doing random stuff waiting for the story to unfold a bit with no real need to go back in.

A couple of the early ones make you leave and do something in the real world before you can go back to finish off and sending the calling card takes a day I think

I don't want spoilers but I really hope P5R isn't about to end where it appears to be heading. Because that would be a massively anti-climactic kick in the 140 hour fermented balls.

Shittiest boss in the game, and a notorious difficulty spike. There's one way to make the fight a lot easier though: turn the game difficulty up to Merciless for the increased crit damage so you can burn the minions down within the 2 turn time limit. Setting the game to the hardest difficulty actually makes the game a lot easier. Yes it's dumb |

I can't remember having problems with it in P5, but yeah I turned to Google in P5R and ended up cranking the difficulty. Utterly shit bit of design!
I've given up on P3P in mid June IIRC. Not really warming to any of the characters or the dungeon crawling.
Think I'll go back to Soul Hackers 2 instead for my fix.

Yeah I'm about lol 45ish with my social links quite high. Not had any issues in the whole dungeon but this boss has been a slog.
It's the two turn limit for each wave that's getting me. Making it to the wind/bless wave which I think is wave 5?
I think I need to be doing more baton passes and then a big hit with a group energy weakness.
I seem to remember this happened in p4 when I played it and bounced right off. Too far into 5 to ditch it here. Doable just came out of nowhere.

Yeah that Okamura fight is the hardest battle in the whole game. I don't remember struggling with it in vanilla P5 but it took me a few goes in Royal. I think it's the only time I lost.
The gameplay loop of P3P has got its hooks into me but I can't say the story or characters have grabbed me particularly yet. I'm a bit disappointed that it's so similar to P4G too (though that is more of a reflection on P4G than P3 I guess). Same enemies, graphics, sound effects, structure... I was planning to do a P4G run through straight after but I think I'll put it off to let it fade in the memory a bit first.

I assume this boss is much harder than in vanilla P5 as I remember that being pretty easy throughout. Still not played Royal yet. |

Just want p3p to be over now. 45 hours in and just got the the barrier in section 5 of tartarus.
Tartarus is just so fucking overly long and tedious. 5 bosses I think in this section which is just fucking terrible.
And there is never anything to do at night. 9 times out of 10 it is just wasted time while you hit study or charm raise or something. It really needed more than 2 evening links.
I will finish it, but it is overstaying its welcome now.

I get the feeling the game expects you to spread each Tartarus area over multiple visits, rather than rush through it all in one go. I guess that's what the tiredness mechanic is for?

It's by far the most annoying thing in the game and almost inexplicable as to how they could have got it so wrong. I went back to the safe room, teleported to the entrance and went into the velvet room. "Bought" some of the gifted high level personas and then got through it. |
