79 quid seems slightly less shocking than whatever the original price was that was mentioned on the previous page that it's far too hard work to go back to.

I'll never play this. But I want it so bad. Same. I only got a few years out of board games with my boy before endless sessions of CoD with his mates appealled to him more. I would have loved to play this with him as I used to play with it my dad when I was young. Now I can just whistfully look at the pics and lament the fact I never will.

I was introduced to his channel through this here thread. One of the best ever. Watched all his reviews and unboxings and reboxings and it’s just great wholesome content.

My box has arrived already!!
Turns out I must have had a rush of blood to the head when ordering as I've got the expansions as well!!
Told the missus about it this morning, and have decided to treat it as a surprise* family Christmas present.
*Surprise for the 13 y/o

I opened it to see what was in the huge cardboard box. Which is when I realised I'd bought the expansions as well.
But I am not going to go further.

Mine just turned up. Haven't looked at the expansions yet, just had a peek at the main box. Lots of minis. Some are a bit bent, buts that's the perils of a lot of these softer plastic single piece miniatures, sadly. If I can find the time over the weekend I'll crack it all open and have a mess around  Edit: Got an original boxed copy around here somewhere, so it might be fun to dig that out and compare the new with the old. |

Yes - my copy arrived today \o/
Super nostalgia hit, but the overall quality is better than I was expecting. The figures are OK - certainly not GW standard, but pretty decent. Lots of extras with the mythic tier - so overall I'm very happy.
Just debating on whether I'll end up painting the figures or whether I'll leave them as bare plastic. There's something nice about the simplicity of green/grey/cream monsters and red heroes...
Hopefully I'll find the time this weekend to actually play it!

My friend got this, I think the Mythic edition, certainly the one with all the extra and alternate characters, and I have to say, whilst I was a snobby-as-hell Advanced Heroquest player back in the day (HeroQuest was "for kids" - obviously at the grand age of 11 I was beyond that lol), I am pretty excited to play it.

We started a game today.
Only got through two rooms before Mrs Alastair got distracted by hanging out some washing!
I like it, but it's clearly going to take a while to play.
Also, some of the figures seen slightly too big for the grid on the board. A busy room can get very crowded.
