Did anyone else get in on the Hasbro-starter last year?
I thought it was supposed to come out this fall but I haven't heard a thing about it since the pre-order period. Getting itchy for that brode sode.

Crowdfunding. No shipping outside of the US. Meh.
I want(ed) this, desperately, but I can’t be arsed with all the obstacles just because I want to spend some money.

I was able to pre-order it through ZavviLast info I saw is that shipping starts in late October, although I don't know whether that also covers the UK orders..? There's also a suggestion that once all of the Kickstarter backers have been given their copies, this'll get a retail release just ahead of Christmas. Might be US-only though. youtu.be/Y_D2DwtcQu8youtu.be/CWdgenoW26M

Yep, same here. Couldn't back the crowdfunder due to no shipping to the UK, but jumped on board when Zavvi got involved. 3D printed a bunch of tiles for a massive modular Heroquest board a while back, really need to get those painted.

Boy, the prices of board games are getting kinda crazy. I'd love to have HeroQuest to play with the kids... but that's waay out of my price range for that kind of thing. :-(

Sorry I missed this. Still have my original copy of Space Crusade, but I'd have loved a version of Heri Quest too. Was always jealous of my friends copies back in school.

As a kid I had Hero Quest and a few of its expansions (3 perhaps). Never played Space Crusade. I remember finding out later that their were Advanced versions too that were possibly Games Workshop only (as opposed to the wide release of the Hasbro standard versions) Edit - Milton Bradley not Hasbro... ^

While we had HeroQuest,I'm disappointed to have missed the various iterations of Space Crusade and Space Hulk. I hope one of them'll eventually get some form of re-release...

I love HeroQuest - I still have my original set from the early 90s and the four expansions. The later two with the Ogres and evil Wizards were especially good.
I can credit my Dad for painting all the miniatures - it looks fantastic and I’ve really enjoyed revisiting the game since my son has been old enough.
I’ve got Space Crusade and the expansions too (Dreadnoughts and Eldar), although that wasn’t quite as good a game as HeroQuest.
The Remake of HeroQuest looks great, but is pretty pricey.

I got Space Crusade over Hero Quest as I was more in to futuristic stuff when I was a teenager. Plus it was a lot like Aliens with the motion trackers and the blips. But in hindsight I should have gotten both!
I had both expansions too, the dreadnought expansion was rough, one was bad enough, but when the rest were added it was slaughter.
The game was already so tough against the marine players.

I'm not sure Space Crusade was designed by games workshop anyway?

Why is a company like Hasbro doing crowd funding?
Anyway, looks ace, but I wonder if it'd be better to invest the money in a 3d printer and make your own.

Unboxing video The video's a bit long, but the contents look decent - and he seems quite impressed with the quality...

Any word if more will become available? It's been suggested that the core game will be coming to retail in short order - with rumours of further expansions (over those included in the Mythic Tier) also coming next year. Fingers crossed for both

I just found it for preorder on EB Games forAU$250 or so. More than Gloomhaven. I can’t see the value in it.
I bought Hero Quest in 1987 for $40 (which was a lot then for a board game) and spent a fair amount of time designing a campaign for it, but never actually played it with anyone. I’m tempted to buy this new version to act as a physical reminder of my sad childhood, but I’d probably rather buy Gloomhaven and not play that than this.
