I'm amazed you actually went through with it, I thought you were joking.
She must have a nice set of milkers.

I said that I'd convert, not that I'd be a good Muslim.

You probably don't want to declare yourself a bad Muslim anywhere QCHQ can hear.

Went out last night, with the express intention of taking it easy...
Even skipping a couple of rounds (and getting an alcohol free pint at one point) I still managed 7 alcoholic pints and a minging hangover.
Never really count normally but this made me realise how much I normally put away when out with mates.
Too old for this shit!

I've got a (ex) works do coming up, it'll be pubs (which I generally don't frequent), I'm thinking of a Guinness night, normally it's cider on such nights but that leaves me absolutely fucked the next day, I don't think I'd live if I went the lager route.

Stick to real ale - there'll be weaker options in every pub and you can still drink by the pint. And, I mean, the beer is better...
If you stick to Guinness don't wear white underwear the day after.

After thinking Poretti was some Aldi Moretti knock off, I decided to get some.
What a lovely beer.

Talisker Skye. It’ll be gone in a few minutes. Then, gaming!

After thinking Poretti was some Aldi Moretti knock off, I decided to get some. What a lovely beer. It's got a fuller hoppy flavour than lots of Italian lagers without straying into IPA territory imo.

I'll have to give that a try. Most of the other Italian lagers are brewed by Carlsberg etc under license in the UK now anyway (think Menabrea was the latest casualty when I checked).
Randomly enough, Asahi seems to be brewed in Italy.

Ah, not Menabrea too. The cans of Moretti are imported, bottles under licence.

That's why Moretti doesn't taste the same anymore then. I actually prefer the Poretti anyway, went down really well.

Yup. I only buy the cans if I can help it, it is a marked difference.

I never wanted to be one of those connoisseur types who holds up a glass of something, smells it, and talks about "notes" and "the bouquet" of a drink, but I will say that after drinking Johnnie Walker for a while, I can't go back to the cheap bottles of Grants I was getting before. I need that hint of vanilla in the JW now.

Ah, not Menabrea too. The cans of Moretti are imported, bottles under licence. Can confirm that the 500ml bottles of Menabrea are imported. No hint of being brewed under licence in the few I picked up from Tesco.

Dougs, yeah they had a few different types of 500ml in a 3 for £x offer, which all seemed to be imported. Only one Poretti left on the shelf unfortunately. I'll definitely be buying that again!

I'm such a snob when it comes to scotch but I have no qualms drinking the cheapest bourbon available.
Anyway, week three of not drinking and I'm in the San Miguel alcohol free tonight. It's decent for an AF lager; I normally much prefer AF IPAs or pale ales because the hops at least give it some character, but this is pleasantly bitter and doesn't have that vegetal boiled flavour that most AF lagers have.

I got a bottle of Bulleit to try and it's not really going down at all well compared to the two bottles of Woodford Reserve that I got through perhaps a little bit too quickly.
I'm not a whisky/whiskey drinker at all, but God damn Woodford is nice!

Poretti first up. Then maybe a gin before wine with dinner. Love Saturdays.

I'm on the Poretti too. Definitely one of my favourites at the moment. I found some delightful 660ml. They have their drawback mind you, they're stronger than I'm used to. Doesn't reflect well in units consumed! For the other thread at some point...
