I try to steer clear of cocktails, they're just too tasty and easy to drink. Drinking them for a few hours and then going to break the seal, then it hits you as soon as you stand up.
Love an Espresso Martini though.

Espresso martinis are the best and also the worst cocktail because you gravitate towards them to caffeinate you and get you more drunk when you really should be going to sleep and not drinking any more. That's everyone else's experience too, right?

Tried one of my just delivered Nothern Monk 'Patron's Project' Judge Dredd labelled beers last night.
Obviously bought for the can art by Jock, I actually enjoyed the beer too. Very hazy, looking like pineapple juice (my wife called it 'cystitis-yellow'), with some citrus. Refreshing.
Can art is only a label (limited run) but looks excellent.

Went for "a quick one" after work. Turned into three. Apparently I can't take three pints in an hour and a half these days.

Yeah. I did similar. First trip in in to London to see colleagues for the first time in nearly 2 years. Great to see (and meet) everyone. Pints after, early exit for the 3 hour trip home. Beer and wine for said trip. Have enjoyed it thy, I have to say. Feels like old times.

So my Naked Wines Xmas box just arrived. There's obviously fucking loads of booze in it, but I have like no Xmas plans whatsoever (first once since the separation).

Just picked up a bottle of this for £15.99 from Lidl Not tried it yet but if it lives up to the good reviews I'll be back for another one quick before they all vanish, which is what usually happens with the better Lidl whiskies.

Decorations are going up so mulled wine. Nothing says Christmas like getting pissed on hot drinks on a Sunday afternoon.

Been drinking Brooklyn lager recently. It’s actually pretty decent.

Delicious DAB Lager from the bargain booze. It's a fair cut above the standard fare.

Walthamstow Beer Project. Green Hopped pale ale. Of which we provide hops for.
Which entitles us to 2 free pints each year. Yea...
A great ale. East London Brewing Co. Is the place to look.

A glass bottle coke zero. It tastes so much better in a glass bottle.

A pint of stout in a local microbrewery which was so nice I had to have another just to make sure.

I am absolutely hanging. Only had a few beers and a bottle of wine, but my head is pounding (on 3rd lot of paracetamol) and I am resisting the urge to throw up every 5 minutes. Far too old for this shit.

Having a gin (a lovely citrusy Scottish gin) as a hair of the dog. Not convinced it's working tbh.

Yeah, the whole "drink more to cure a hangover" trick never worked for me. I'm convinced it's just an excuse for full-on alcoholics to keep it going.
I like to have a tea and a nap when I'm hungover. Pain reliever also for the headache, but you've already had those.

A hair of the dog works, but you really have to drink quite a bit and all you're doing is putting off the inevitable. Dare I try wine with dinner?

Drinking more does stop you feeling hung over, but it's only delaying the inevitable.
