Yeah, that's absolutely shameless. Although if it's a choice between Moretti and Madri, Madri usually wins.

Madri is fake as, yet quite nice compared to some other draught beers in some pubs.

Birra Morreti. It's a perfectly fine beer. I used to absolutely love a moretti, back when it was imported. It's a pale shadow of itself (almost literally) and the Fosterisation is now complete. It's one of the reasons I moved away from lager - anything brewed here/under license just tastes the same. That's fair, it's definitely not as nice as it used to be. There's a correlation between beers declining and them being having been bought by Heineken.

Yep, see also our beloved neck oil.
I have imbibed far too much over the summer so trying to have a good week or two off.

I find Madri a bit, I dunno, cloying. I think it's because they use glucose syrup in the brewing.
It's not the only beer to do so but generally I find beers that do use glucose / fructose syrup tend to not be to my taste.

Spanish Vermouth, Rosso. Our go to brand on holiday was Yzaguirre (don't ask me how you pronounce it!). Having been travelling to Spain for the last 16 years we have only just discovered this drink during the our final week in Spain! Drank nothing else. Free pour helps of course.
If you go to bars on Spain you will often see a wooden barrel on or behind the bar, it's probably vermouth and the bars own blend. Who knew?
Our favourite from a bar in Hondarriba - own blend Rosso, a load of ice, always 2 green olives on a cocktail stick, always a slice of orange, slice of lemon, a dash of gin and a few dashes of Angostura bitters. All this for €2.50. Fucking bargain, and bloody lovely to drink.
Went to a vermouth bar in Valladolid, the guy had over 100 different vermouths, including a smoked one. It was gorgeous. And a bar in Ovideo had a huge barrel of their on blend behind the bar. Glasses all lined up with the olives and lemon in preparation for the rush. Proper old school service. The exterior and interior are unchanged since 1972. You half expected Roger Moore to turn up!
Enjoy ✌️

Dougs love Vocation beers. Also, jealous of the northern monk glass! On topic a very pleasant Torr lager by Brew Toon. It's really nice. Hopefully the next choice is also as nice. 😀

A Hop Hut Summer Slam IPA from Tiny Rebel.
Ok, but... Not as good as the other one!

Not sure the bigger boys have got the hang of this craft beer malarkey!

Wow. I had a draft Gamma Ray tonight and it was shit, well not quite shit shit, but Heineken have fucked up what used to be a nice beer.
Sad times.
Did have a really nice draft Cold Town Baltic IPA, a decent aperol spritz and an amazing mojito though, so it wasn't all bad! 😀

As i said above, Fosterisation complete. Had to make do with a couple of Peroni when out for dinner and vino at home when we got back. Frustrates me when there's such limited beer choice

Was out for lunch for a cheeky Nando's as a sweetener for my youngest (see parenting thread). Was driving so had a Laser Crush AF IPA. That is an AF beer I could get behind.

Them's is nice.
I was at a gig on tuesday and this venue had a 0.5% beer on draft. It was such a cool thing to get a pint or two and still be able to drive.
Take note other venues!

Absolutely! Things are slowly changing. I do kinda begrudge paying almost the same though.

Laser crush is great.
I met up with a mate for a few pints last night, feeling dreadful this morning. My tolerance is way down

Awesome! Good beers imo. Can't remember why I was looking on their site but saw a photo of the glass and had to have a couple.

Over here there’s a number of hop infused water options, haven’t tried any yet though. Sparkling peach and yuzu pop with a dose of hops might be decent though

I'm enjoying a fine Chianti. Okay, it's not that fine. It was pretty cheap, but it at least has a cork, unlike 95% of supermarket wines. Screw-top wine is just wrong.

I'm going to the gym soon. Then I'll be on the beer undoing the work.
See some of you here later.

Two pints of Korev (Cornish lager) with my lad sat on the seafront, thinking it'll be the last evening possible this year.

M&S 0.5% pale ale while I watch the Edinburgh game (they are playing Leinster, they are going to shame themselves).

As a counter to the Moretti is shit speak from earlier in the thread, I had Moretti 0.0 for the first time this week and it’s the best AF lager I’ve ever had.

I’d rate Moretti over Madri but Camden Hells is the same price in Sainsbury’s and is infinitely nicer.
Speaking of which, the mrs is out and the boy is asleep, time to crack one open and watch a couple of shit Steven Seagal films.

Right, life extending exercise is done. On to the life-shortening things that make life worthwhile:
1x smallish bowl of Taylor's ready salted crips. Love these.
1x Brew Toon Trawlerman Hazy Pale ale. Nae bad at a'.
Hoppy, wee bit bitter, but not too much.
