After another frustrating day at work ended up having a good chat with one of the managers in the team at the end of the day where we both complained in a semi-conducting way.
Anyway she told me to log off and get a drink so who am I to refuse. Went to the pub a few doors down from my house and now drinking a pint of Bristol Beer Factory - Chimay Shelter.
It's a decent attempt at a Belgian style beer. Though unlike the monster strength Belgian beers of usually opt for it's less than 5%
refreshing.

Tesco clubcard deal. Bottle for £19, free glass that they sell seperately for a tenner.

I took advantage of that deal the other day, but accidentally drank just over half the bottle that same evening and felt awful the next day.
Didn't stop me finishing the rest of it a few days later.
I like whisky a lot, even Jack Daniels (which is easy enough to drink but far from my favourite) but I rarely buy it because I can't trust myself 😬

Hazy Pale, fresh beer from the Marlow brewery. Delicious, 9/10! Returnable bottles too

I had a 'Haze Halo' ipa from 71 brewing after my bike ride earlier today. Hit the spot.

Vault City have done a beer called "Mountain Brew" which is a caffienated sour, 4.5%.
They seem to have very much thought "lets make a sour beer that tastes and looks like Mountain Dew energy drink".
And surprisingly I'm okay with that, it has a nice sourness.

Generally speaking, I don't like lactose-heavy fruited beers, but somehow they nail the brief every time and kind of make beer fun? I don't know.

Bought some whisky for my Dad's birthday, got him a Nc'Nean single malt. Never had it before, and nor has he, but the tasting notes sound like something he might enjoy and it had a nice bottle so thought it would do.
As I was buying that though I thought I'd get something for myself, and fancied a Rye whisky. Browsed around and considered the FEW Rye, which I've had before but noticed there was a Jack Daniels Bonded Rye whisky that came with a FREE HAT so went for that, because FREE HAT.
It's actually quite good. I find the everyday Jack Daniels a perfectly drinkable drink, but not my favourite. This Bonded Rye is a lot nicer. On the nose it's much like their usual stuff, but it's not as sweet and dessert like as the main expression.
It's not as good as the FEW Rye whisky of course, but it's 20 quid cheaper and came with a FREE HAT so I have no regrets at all. Decent drink.

A Peckham session IPA.
It's not bad.
The espresso martini before may also be helping. 😂

We had a bottle of local sparkling rose last night from the nearby Okenagan valley, there’s some decent wines in BC. It was strange opening a bottle of fizz with a beer opener, it had a metal lid instead of a cork. Just ok, drinkable, not one I’ll buy again though

Apart from the the rum, Peroni Nastro of course, I think this is the actual Amber Nectar those silly ads refereed to years ago, just sublime when ice cold.
BTW do the smaller bottles taste the same as the big bottles?

Hope all OK!
I have a Greene King Hazy Day IPA on the go. It's not bad as it goes. Very much a cash in on the whole Hazy/NEIPA trend but definitely tasted worse. And half the price of neck oil and beggars can't be choosers.

A nice cup of tea.
I am saving myself for omorrow night, which is catching up with some ex-work chums in the pub. i. e. Folk who have left the workplace rather than people i no longer like!
Going straight after work, so could get a little messy. I hope halfcut/drunk me remembers to make the last train home. 😂

had a few Bath Ale Gems earlier, and finished off my Jack Daniels Bonded Rye (hey it lasted a week...), but now onto the Koskenkorva SalmiakkiIt's amazing if you like that liquorice. If you don't like liquorice you will not have a good time.

Me and my flipper hand had one of these, it’s ok. Bit too bitter for me. The shop had a sour called Tropic Like It’s Hot which I was too much of a coward to buy this week

Ooof, 7.9. Almost in special brew territory that!
I had a rather nice session NEIPA from Buxton/Brithop Brewery called Girl From Mars. Very nice indeed. Rare to see a session NEIPA so perfect for me as I can't handle strong beers anymore!

Sours are often a step too far for me. Some i like, but others are too sour & salty. I tend to swerve them now.
Last night i had a C*ld Town breeing Baltic IPA at a sensible 5%. (i was toiling from the night out the day before so was ca'ing canny).
Usual last minute sprint for the train home on the night out. I always lose track of time after a few drinks & some good chat...

An espresso martini, followed by a pint of Northumbrian amber ale.
Not too shabby.

Birra Morreti. It's a perfectly fine beer.

Ulythium I've never had one but after a bit of a google it sounds nice. I used to like the odd Cocktail but find I drink a few and then the ingredients don't get used for yonks and after that they just taste off. Mrs Mercury is quite keen on an Albertine, my favourite is a Cosmopolitan.

Birra Morreti. It's a perfectly fine beer. I used to absolutely love a moretti, back when it was imported. It's a pale shadow of itself (almost literally) and the Fosterisation is now complete. It's one of the reasons I moved away from lager - anything brewed here/under license just tastes the same.

Worst one is Madri, the classic Spanish lager. Brewed by Coors in Yorkshire at the Carling factory with a cultural appropriation plastered on the label
