That was a really intense game. Both teams tired last 10 minutes.
Decent point though.

Napoli have been quality in the Champions League but two goals came from Ajax trying to play it out from the back.

Football Punditry is so reactive, Spurs have lost one prem game all season, sit in 3rd and are still odds on to qualify from their Champions League group but one loss and a draw and suddenly its “where is this team going?”.

Isn't that mainly because their performances haven't been convincing, despite the results?

Another way of looking at it is despite not clicking into gear yet we’re doing really well, so imagine how we’ll do when we do get back into form.
I’m more worried about fan negativity and the narrative that can come from that than I am the team and our performances.

A lot of the reaction that I've read to the NLD has been around that everything seems to need to be perfect for the plan to work. Perfect final ball, perfect finish etc, given the focus on counter attacking and that not many chances are created each game. Don't know how true that is though.

As much as I enjoy Spurs getting a good (and rare) kicking in the press it's all a bit daft when their sitting in extremely favourable positions in the prem and champions league.
Journalists and pundits seem to have this self confidence to predict how things are going to pan out like they're Nostradamus but most of the time they get it massively wrong. All top teams have bumps along the way even with City (in the Champions League anyway though that could change this year).
There was some great build up play yesterday in the first half that I saw, if that continues then other clubs will have to be wary.
The only thing that I thought that looked a little off aside from the shooting was Son doesn't seem himself, I know he scored a hat trick recently but his energy levels seem to have dipped?
Maybe I don't watch them enough to know that's the way he plays but MOTD highlighted it at the weekend and I noticed it yesterday too.

Apparently Nunez had more shots last night than Haaland has had all season in all contests, but he’s scored 15 more goals.

Umm surely even Liverpool fans can't be deluded enough to think anyone is as good as Haaland?!

I think I wrote at the time when Liverpool signed him that there were a lot of red flags with him. People saying that although he can score quite a few goals he is very limited as a footballer and doesn't really fit into the way Liverpool want to play. Add that to the massive loss of Mane and it's left them in a bit of a pickle.
It's far to soon to write Nunez off but they will have to change their way of play to accommodate him as he won't do much other than score.
City don't need Haaland to do anything other than score and I think Liverpool will have to aim for the same.

It was such a reactive signing. Mane left and City signed Haaland, so Liverpool immediately lumped on the latest hot name striker, despite him only having one good season in a vastly inferior league. Whether it works out or not, that’s just not smart business.

It was uncharacteristic from recent Liverpool too, and he doesn't seem like a Klopp player at all.

I think it's obvious there is something not quite right there. Klopp played him for 1 minute at the weekend. He's been availble for the last few games, the rest of the front players haven't exactly been sparkling. Granted Firmino has probably been the best of the bunch and maybe he plays instead of him but even still I would think the signs are very worrying for him so far.
Then again Fabinho took a while to bed in as did Thiago so it could all be part of a masterplan.

It all smacks of Emery's first season at Arsenal when they had that unbeaten run for a couple of months and were grinding out results, despite being very average and not having a cohesive style of play, and a lot of the top pundits said they would get found out at some point. The stats and talk I've seen around Spurs this season suggests similar tbh.

We have an extremely cohesive style of play and it’s one that Conte has won the league many times with, including the Premier League. It’s one of the most delineated styles of play in all football. I can’t see the comparison with Emery at all.
We played extremely well last night but were wasteful in front of goal. Our strikers looks a bit fatigued. That may well be Conte’s fault for training them into the ground but it’s not a tactical problem.

Celtic away to RB Leipzig in the early kick-offs tonight. Not feeling optimistic: we were in good shape two/three weeks ago when they were struggling, but now they've switched manager and are flying, whereas we've lost both our CBs to injury and hit a sticky patch in terms of form ... Sadly expecting a bit of a pumping now, Rodgers era-esque.

What that clip doesn't quite show is that we got a freak offside decision going for us (I'd be passed if it were the other way around) and then that happens about 30 seconds later.
Joe Hart has been a revelation for Celtic but now might be the time to rest him.
