If you've ever watched Million pound drop, they struggle with this countdown issue, as Davina announces the incorrect number of seconds left to match the numbers on screen, resulting in there being a weird 'bonus' second i.e. 2 seconds left after she says one.
Though I can't find an example, so either I'm the mistaken ok one or it was an occasional error.

Getting strong bedroom role play vibes. Going to be a wonderful Halloween if having your backdoors smashed in by a crab faced monster is your bag.

My eldest has just come in to me and said their physics homework is to watch some documentary that is on BBC1. I think that the teacher should have thought that not everyone has access to BBC and some people might not even have TV. I realise that's not a lot of people, but I'm in the former category as I don't think the licence is value for money* (~£15 a month) so I don't have one.
I've managed to find something related on YouTube, but it made me feel like a right pauper. I feel like speaking to the teacher, but instead I'll impotently fume whilst fighting an overwhelming sense that I have failed to provide for my family.
*Early last year we were struggling money wise as my workplace asked us to take pay cuts or it would fold. The licence went in that cull

Could you not just go on Iplayer and stream it? Pretty sure you just have to say you have a licence and that's it.

Can't you put on your rags and stand outside a neighbour's house in te rain and watch it through the window?

Why is every cleaning solution on the internet "just rub some baking soda on it"?

Because it just fucking works. Distilled vinegar too.
Soda crystals are also pretty great for cleaning stuff.

Is it not on YouTube? Everything seems to be nowadays. No its not. Its "The Earthshot Prize". There's highlights on YT and that's about it. I looked at Discovery+ which has the global rights for it, but it doesn't seem to show it in the UK. There doesn't seem to be any way to buy the show that I can see either, so they will have to do with that. And yes, I could illegally watch it, but I try not to give that sort of example to my kids.

There is a website streaming it, but looks dodgy so not going to paste it here.

Oooh, added to my list - thanks. Mind you, I can't stand Morley myself so I will probably wait until I can pick it up cheap. Reading that Tony Wilson was 57 when he died was sobering - coming up to that fast myself :/

Thanks guys 😃
I've just forwarded that to my eldest (apparently there's a test on it) so they're well happy and I can stop scrolling around trying to find ways around this.
Much appreciated.

I've had a difficult day today and my wife came back from her work upset too. In my work, I've been doing a number of people's jobs (including what was previously an IT Director role) for the last couple of months and got a call today from a Board member to say I'm now working for someone else in a different area and "thanks for your invaluable work helping us out so well blah blah blah". Feel like all my hard work was all a bit pointless and I was a bit of a sucker, but it'll look good on my CV and I did it for my boss who was my friend but who sadly died. I wanted him to come back to things how they were when he left them, but that didn't work out.
However, in the midst of the day I was able to tell my eldest that I'd found a way for them to be able to watch the programs they need to study (and they've already studied them) and that was great. I was suffering chest pains just after that (as I'd had the Board member calljust before) and had to go to bed until it subsided, but it was the good part of my day and I want to thank you guys for helping me on this. Also, thanks to the many people in the other threads today who have made me smile. Danno and his crap polls and Aunt Alison with his ascerbic comments both stood out today, so thanks.
Its 01:23 and I've just finished working on a release which was dumped on me just over a week ago by some slopey shouldered waster and which I've managed to get done despite having a team who had no experience. I feel like I've earned my sleep and my wages and also a few minutes looking at FG and seeing what you nutters have written.
Thanks

I'm acerbic, haha. I don't know what you mean!
I'm glad it helped
In other news - I've recently shaved my head and noticed a mark on my scalp. I've looked up how to determine if it's something to worry about and still have no idea. It's hard to make anything out as it is literally my crown. It's not a circle though and this is the first time I've seen it so no idea if it's new or what
Should I get it seen to? Am I able to just walk into, say, a Lloyd's Pharmacy and ask someone to have a gander?

If you're not sure, then yes you should get it looked at. Five minutes with a doctor (not a pharmacy) and they should be able to put your mind at rest.
I've an app called skin vision that checks mine, but you need to pay for that and anything it things is suspicious you still need to see a doc.

From one of the Audible reviews on Joe Abercrombie's third book
"Very entertaining Aside from the narrator’s constant pronunciation of grimace as “grim-ACE”, he did a fantastic job with Abercrombie’s fantastic story. Highly recommended grimdark high fantasy."
HA, SO IT'S NOT JUST ME THANK FUCK

It'd be great if he flipflopped between Grim-ACE and GRIME-iss. And never grim-iss.

I don't know what's going on. Maybe he just mispronounced it once in a recording, but it was too expensive to redo it so they just said "well fuck it let's double down, at least if it's wrong it can be consistently wrong"
