Makes sense really, you have a few hours in the morning to focus on things you enjoy doing before work, rather than get home too tired to do anything meaningful and waste the evening

At our age isn't it more like 1/2 a wank, 10 poos and a slice of toast.

I did it not too long ago. Twas shite. Moreso as I'm the type of person who can't really relax or enjoy a hobby if I know have to go work later in the day.

Didn't go to sleep but instead drank a couple of beers and watched hollow, banal, crap on the internet.

Ha, interesting. My partner’s sleep patterns are also 8pm to 4am. This is excellent as it gives me four clear hours to myself in the evening.

It does make sense, sort of, but what does dave do after Mrs danger's gone to work for four hours? dave we need answers? Sorry. I went to bed after that post! I wish I could make it sound exciting, but the reality is that those few hours in the morning become my evenings. I’ll get up, do any left over washing up. Then it’s a round of coffees and breakfasts. The other half leaves for work around 5am and that’s leaves me 2 or 3 hours to play games, watch TV or do whatever. I only do this 4 days a week, but my sleeping pattern is altered enough that I dont stay up later than 9:30 most other evenings. It’s weird. I’m definitely a night owl, so my sleep isn’t great at the moment, but it won’t be forever.

Haha. Kinda.
Unfortunately she has PTSD, so if she wakes up she’s often out of bed and arming herself before she knows where she is. She can move so fast too. It’s kinda scary to watch.
She’s learned to subconsciously check for my presence now, having been together 4 years, but if she wakes and I’m not there it can pretty bad.
And then obviously it takes forever to recover from that as the part of her brain that triggers this fight or flight mode as it doesn’t shut down like it’s supposed to. It can take hours, so It’s kinda best I follow her to bed.
Some months are better than others, but I’ve learnt she doesn’t really try to sleep until I go to bed and I don’t want to be the person depriving her of sleep.
She will still sleep if I’m on the TV in the bedroom, hence the second Xbox and the Switch, but if it’s a work night I’ll usually drift off straight away.

Got to do whatever works for you both really. No such thing as normal and all that. We tend to go to bed together these days, usually around 10pm, with thr alarm set for 6am. By the time we've sorted cat, dog, teeth then wound down, it's 11pm. If my wife wants an early night, I then have to stay awake until 11pm or midnight just to ensure she drifts off properly before I come to bed.

I didn’t mean to lower the tone there. A big part of it is also she’s pretty much my everything. Even if I didn’t feel obliged to do so, I’d probably still stuck closely to her routine. She’s the person I want to see the more than anyone else.
It’s also taught me to stop waiting for things, like work. I can set an alarm once she leaves for work, just remind me when I need to get ready for something, and can spend the time between doing whatever I want. It’s actually kinda peaceful.
I’ve been playing Undead Nightmares most mornings recently, waiting for the sun to rise.

I swear AI is running rampant on Reddit, particularly on sewers like ‘AITAH’ and ‘AIO’* The stories are becoming more and more implausible and when I’ve tried to read comments on them a couple of times today it’s got a server error and looks like it’s been deleted.
I do wonder what this is all about.
Is it just the joy of a troll or getting one over on people?
Is it people training AI?
Worse is it the AI training itself?

Some of the relationship advice on those kind of subs can be hilarious. It's like they've never been in a serious relationship with anybody apart from their right hand, but to them everything is a red flag and people should obviously just break up straight away, instead of talking stuff through like rational adults.
I'd never heard of the second acronym and wondered if prebuilt watercooling discussions were getting out of hand for a moment...
