I would love to live in Cyprus, luck to have holidayed there a few years back and once or twice as a kid, I kept on as a member of a few Cyprus ex-pat Facebook groups so have seen a little bit how it's changed and how moving out there has changed since Brexit but it gives me a little slice of what it's like there. Think if there was more opportunity for the kids with respect to work and the wife didn't have so many health problems we could seriously consider it, remote working what it is now I could carry on doing this job.

I’d move to Greece in a heartbeat, as long as I didn’t have to work a 6-day week.

I might change my mind when I go and visit him one day. I just hope he's got rid of that giant snake he sent me a video of in his garden..

If there’s one thing Greece lacks, it’s history.

If there’s one thing Greece lacks, it’s history. British people should know that all too well...

It's just a bunch of ruins. Knock it down. Build something useful. We've got pictures of what it looked like. Fuck it off.

Do you not get spousal preferential rights? My wife is desperate to retire to Greece (based on 3 years as a late teen on Cyprus, when her dad was posted there...) but it all feels like such a battle and minefield. Greece is so random on what you can and can’t do etc. and it seems I’d have citizenship already if I was the Greek person (being male) or we had kids.

Meh, by the time you retire we'll have rejoined I used to think that but it’s not really likely is it 😩

What's great for me is that I have access to living anywhere in the EU. But what's bad is that if I stay outside the UK for more than 6 months (I think) then I'm not allowed back in.

What's your status in the UK? I have settled status, which I applied for when the scheme opened. I really need to become dual.. but it costs a few grand .

When you bite into a Kitkat, and the water is short, so half a finger is solid chocolate.
Hell yes.

Out for a late evening stroll, currently sipping a Peroni whilst staring out to a very quiet sea.
