I got nothing of any use for a cv, my plan is not to ever need a cv.

Pretty sure I used part of one of my certificates as a roach as it was the quickest thing to hand at the time.

My dad ‘lost’ a box of documents so not only do I not have my GCSE certs, I don’t have my a-levels, degree or masters, either. A clean sweep. Every time I’ve applied for a job in the last few years, I have worried they are going to ask for proof of something I can’t give them. The degrees sound like a nightmare to get copies of but fuck knows how I would go about getting my gcse ones back. Degrees are fairly easy to get hold of, just contact the university awards department and ask for a transcript. I had to do that recently, cost 25 quid at my uni. I’d be fucked if anyone asked for GSCEs as I literally have none, didn’t pass a single one Not even the cobblers one?

The degrees sound like a nightmare to get copies of but fuck knows how I would go about getting my gcse ones back. My current US employer was the first in 15 years to ask for my qualifications. There was a bit of back and forth as I've got no copies of anything. The university portal was apparently too difficult to use so eventually they went to the trouble of contacting my old high school in NZ. To her credit whoever the office lady was managed to confirm details from the 1800's.

I also had to back peddle drastically on some bullshit course I'd put on for a previous role.

I’ve got a couple of low level qualifications that I say I have but expired on my CV, but in reality I did the course, failed the test and was never arsed to retake it because every bit of software you look at has a professional accreditation now.

I like(d) Witchking too, for whatever little that's worth, and I'm sorry he seems to have felt the need to disappear again.
Like Sarfrin, I don't necessarily agree that the public reasoning behind Witchking's latest departure was sound; however, as Wunty said, you never really know what's going on in someone else's life. A throwaway comment, even said in jest, might prove to be the straw that pulverises the camel's spinal column into a fine powder.
Plus I don't like losing forum members in general, I guess.

My take on it is that if you’re going to leave just do the ol’ Irish exit. PM system is there if you want to say some goodbyes but otherwise why bother with the drama.

Glad I'm not the only one thinking that was an odd request, I've never had to prove education results, even when starting out in work. Still can't believe a company asks for them...bonkers. nope. Absolutely mental.

I remember my school giving me a record of achievement, and hyping it up like this red folder was going to be an important document in my future. Was it fuck.
I have no idea where any of my certificates are, including my degree.
It's all bollocks anyway. I wouldn't trust a job that hired on the basis of that tat.

Ahh, true achievement.

While I concur that 95%+ of announced exits are rooted in attention-seeking flounciness, I don't think it applies to *all* of them. Witchking didn't strike me as that type, for instance - more someone who genuinely struggles with (and gets upset by) this kind of thing, tries to explain himself, and ends up worse off as a result.
I'm much the same, so I get it.
