If we're broadening the scope beyond crisps too include other salt-and-cholesterol based snacks, i still think it's hard to beat good pork scratchings as an accompaniment to a drink. Need to be good quality though. The delta of quality can be pretty large in scratchings.

Tudor Specials Roast Beef And Pickle. Haven't found a crisp that comes close since they discontinued them.

I never liked cheese and onion when I was growing up
Now I’m more mature with a more sophisticated palate I really like Walkers cheese and onion. Those and Walkers prawn cocktail are my go to
I never buy Walkers salt and vinegar though despite other salt and vinegar crisps, eg squares, being another of my favourites
The crazy world of crisps eh? Proper mental

Coated peanuts are my favourite pub snack. Sweet chilli are the best.
Tesco did a pigs in blankets version a few Christmases ago.

That can vary a lot too, some supermarket stuff is a little dry or too tough.

Walkers prawn cocktail and pickled onion monster munch satiate the child in me.

Has to be roast beef monster munch, although pickled onion will do. As others have said Brannigans roast beef and mustard were the all time greats. They were too beautiful for this world

I genuinely don't get meat flavour crisps. They all:
1) never taste like meat, so why call it roast chicken flavour etc?
And
2) they all taste like shit.
Anyone who eats them I immediately assume is a wrong 'un.

They’ve usually got freeze dried powdered meat in them for flavouring

Most 'meat' flavours are actually vegetarian.

Not all though. Sensations roast chicken has chicken in it

It's surprising though, walkers roast chicken are suitable for vegans, for example. I think most of the walkers bog standard ones are vegetarian. Here's a guide: veganfoundry.com/which-walkers-crisps-are-vegan/Where it says 'not vegan', I think they are still vegetarian.

That's because Nik Naks have been shit since they changed all the packaging to foil, same as most crisps.

Anyone who eats them I immediately assume is a wrong 'un. Yeah, I'm with you on this, after the first few they have very little appeal. Steak flavours being the worst offenders. My tastes sway towards puffed corn snacks. 1 Pickled Onion Monster Munch 2 Flaming Giant Wotsits 3 Bacon Fries (Because I'm a hypocrite)

Steak flavours are the worst, I don't know what the issue is but they all have a terrible aftertaste.

Beef flavoured crips are awful. Unless the Roysters which are the stuff of dreams.

I feel a need to buy some Roysters now just to remember, plus I've got a cracking hangover so this seem like a good excuse.

BBQ beef Hula Hoops are nice, not as nice as salt & vinegar though
There were some chilli big Hula Hoops that were delicious but they seem to have disappeared from shelves now

I used to get some called "Really Ruthless" and they were mouth destroyers. Sadly the company is no longer. Must have killed someone.

I'd imagine they were old stock to flog off. I'd still have a go at a bag if I saw one in the wild.
