It was actually Elton John in Hyde Park as I was there due to being so young and cool.
I've also got tickets to that Foo Fighters gig. Wembley is a pain to get to at the best of times but at least it is a Saturday.

AHH was it, I only knew there were other gigs as it was an article I saw this morning, they must have got it wrong.
For Wembley I've got parking in the pink car park, I know it's going to be a nightmare to get out but I really didn't want to miss it.

Apparently BTS had a gig nearby that also caused some of the carnage.

Green day were amazing. Only other time I saw them was a few years back at the emirates stadium and I thought they were ok but last night was just a combination of coming out of lockdown making the audience and band react in an amazing way. Actually really wanted to see Weser but also missed them due to the traffic 🤬

Bollocks, looks like Primus have cancelled a bunch of their dates in September including Manchester.

Drove to Glasgow last night for Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer. Just got back. What a fucking night. Weezer were phenomenal and FOB (who I'm not a huge fan of) were very good at points, so their set was still decent overall.
Green Day though. Bloody hell. I'm not sure I've been to a better show, or there are many people more suited to a stage than Billy Joe. It was just utterly amazing.

I'd really love to see Weezer but only if they played The Blue Album and Pinkerton exclusively (with maybe Island in the Sun thrown in).

Us proper Grunge fans hated them and their seemingly pre manufactured punk for college girls. Still not a fan but they really improved and turned themselves around. Weezer are great.

I remember enjoying Make Believe briefly, but they just make utterly tiresome songs today. It's like Weezer are the American McFly.

Weezer were actually the biggest surprise of the night for me. Can't say I was ever keen on them but their set just made me so happy in ways I can't describe.

The only let down was the first band on. Some Australian punk band who - instead of having a set full of decent songs - were reduced to their female singer handbanging her way around the stage in a chainmail bra and calling the audience cunts.

I'm going to see Guns n Roses this afternoon at the Spurs stadium. I hope they've trimmed down the set list a bit from a few years ago. Needed more AfD and less bollox imo

I've listened to a bit of them. Monsoon Rock is good but nothing else really stood out. They've got a sound that makes you wonder if they idolise the Pistols too much.

I've got a real thing about shouting insults at the audience as well. Rubbed me right up the wrong way. The sheer positivity of Weezer, FOB and Green Day, yet we started with this angsty pish.
Still, was quickly forgotten on the day and did little to dampen it. It was glorious.
Mind you, not as bad as the weird London Gangsta "fuk da polis" type shit of The Offspring's support act last year. That still wins the award for the worst and most ill-judged support of all time.

Had a good little festival experience recently, starting off the summer season. Baroness and Sepultura was bloody excellent, and also enjoyed some good shows by Korn, Dimmu Borgir, Accept, Dark Funeral, Deep Purple, Turbonegro and Abbath. Iron Maiden was there as well, Bruce Dickinson sounding atrocious, but the bigger fans among my friends seemed to enjoy it still. I just don't understand that band.
Coming up later this month I'll be seeing Gojira and Rammstein, could be good! Although I wish I saw Gojira while they were still releasing albums that I love.

Saw Roger Daltrey last night at the Apollo in Manchester.
He looks to have lost weight over the last couple of years and his voice has improved with it, although he's rather deaf so I don't know if the stage sound is something to do with that, helping him pitch. The drums were an electronic set presumably to help with reducing the stage sound for him.
Townshend's son on drums and his brother on guitar and backing vox. Kitchen sink band with a violinist, harmonica, keys, mandolin (you could never hear the mandolin), percussion.
A set of about half Who stuff and some solo stuff I'd hastily revised. Of the solo stuff, a song Leo Sayer of all people wrote him was the best, fantastic.
It was excellent, could have done without Brexit being brought up though and I definitely could have done without about six of the drunken idiots around us.
This was a birthday present which had been delayed by covid and we were three rows from the front at a seated gig. They were expensive tickets but the people around us seemed to treat it as a pub gig. Woman next to me actually lay across me several times, pissed. Her fella looked a bit handy so I did fuck all. In 'Who Are You' he obnoxiously shout-sang - not just the chorus hook. He was trying to out sing Daltrey doing every verse badly and out of tune. Four lads they were with in the row behind constantly bellowing GO ON ROG including in sections where he was talking about people dying or having cancer. In fact in the story of Wilko Johnson being diagnosed as terminal we were getting 'SHE'S PISSED UP...WHEEEEYYY!'
Then the icing on the cake was the woman in front who kept trying to get Daltrey's attention, whingeing about it being a standing show 'WHY IT'S ARE ROG!' and kept trying to engage me and my partner in drunken conversation and eye contact. Fuck off. Her breath stunk too.
I haven't accurately portrayed how disruptive these few people were there but it's really making me question whether I want to have a break from it all. Daltrey is a hero of mine and I couldn't wait to get out of what was a brilliant show.

Pearl Jam Stereophonics and a few others in Hyde Park. The weather was great, sunny, blue skies and enough breeze to keep you from getting too warm. Fast entrance, didn't see any trouble anywhere, probably as it wss mostly an older crowd. Stereophonics played a great set, they have some crowd pleasers to sing along to, a good warm up. Pearl Jam played a pretty eclectic set but I really enjoyed it. Far more so than years ago in Marseille where they played a lot from 10. A good old man concert! Time to sit, beers and ciggies in the sun and some top dad dancing! Set list www.setlist.fm/setlist/pearl-jam/2022/hyde-park-london-england-73b50a09.html

Time to sit, beers and ciggies in the sun and some top dad dancing! We went on the Friday and it was excellent. The added bonus being seeing Pixies as well, and Cat Power. We had a woman who was completely pissed out her head trying to push us off the barrier. I’ve never done a barrier before, as I suspected this would happen, but my girlfriend wanted to do it. The woman hit our heads a few times, then the final straw was pushing my back and saying come on in front row!! .. I turned around and said back off (ohh you’re hard)… then a few songs later bumped me again, so I gave her a massive shove and again a back off. I’ve been to plenty of gigs and this was the first time I got proper pissed off with someone. Obviously I’ve been shoved before, but with the heat and her being drunk.

I was a bit further back. There were a LOT of portly shirtless hairy men. Back and Front.
I really didn't fancy getting an accidental sponge bath from an exuberant and sweaty 50 year old!
