I saw blink 182 a good few years back and they just left me cold.
I like a couple of songs, but definitely not for me.

I'm a bit like that with them as well, they are playing the o2 next October though and have rise against at supporting them. I would go just to see them tbh.

Saw Rise Against do a full acoustic gig in Brighton late last year. Easily in my top 5 gigs of all time and I wasn't really that into them when I went.

Quite a few on there I'd still like to see for old time's sake. Only really listen to Tigers Jaw, The Front Bottoms and AJJ from that lot nowadays though.

Animal Collective have cancelled their UK/EU tour citing it being economically unviable. Had a ticket to see them in Dublin. Pretty grim if they can't make a European tour work :/

Pretty grim if they can't make a European tour work :/ Yeah read that the other day, they're not the only ones to do so in recent months and the underlying tone of this is quote alarming. Was interesting to see Paul Heaton & Jacqui Oatley put their tickets up at a cap of £30 last week, at the other end of the spectrum my daughter fancied trying for Coldplay (aaaggh) next summer but at £400-£500 I gladly told her to do one! I just can't fathom who (and how) pays that much for any gig, coldplay or not, without feeling sick inside In other related gigs I keep checking up on Pulp tour to go on sale, anyone else waiting on that one?

Got tickets to see King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard in December. Super chuffed! They are quickly becoming my favourite band. Only annoyed I didn't discover them sooner. And oh look, they released another album today.

Somehow managed to go two months without checking this forum, managed to see some gigs lately!
First I went to ArcTanGent, which was pretty great. Lots of great bands, none of which I can remember right now, but it was my first time at that festival, and it could be tempting to go again. As I understand it, we were super lucky with the weather as well.
Then I saw The Ocean and LLNN at a club. LLNN is always crushing, with the amount of bass and noise going on. First time seeing The Ocean, they certainly lived up to expectations as well!
Then there was Khold. Not sure how well known they are, but they managed an insane amount of groove in their simple black metal songs.
Finally there was a 4-pack, Watain, Abbath, Tribulation, and Bölzer. I don't like it when they pack the line-up with so many bands, but somehow all 4 were excellent. At least it wasn't 5 bands (looking at you, silly American underground metal tours).
Upcoming gigs in the next weeks: 40 Watt Sun Unsane Paradise Lost

(which one is your band? ) We're not exactly famous yet, so you'll have to wait a few decades for that, but it was advertised in the musicians thread. Which you go into, you cad! Haha, anyway, band is called Swim. And we have another gig on 29th October. So you can make that one

A few of my mates opened a new records shop in Camberwell this week and for the opener they had Warmduscher do an instore performance. Lost track of times how many times I have seen them now, but they did a full set and were excellent as always. If you are in London check them out: www.instagram.com/dashthehengestore/Another band on Saturday and it's going to be a good one (possibly two).

I still couldn't remember the band name, though. Sorry. And that would probably be a LONG drive (iirc). One day, though. Promise. I meant which one on the pop-punk poster...

Pavement at the O2 in Leeds
Words can't describe seeing my favourite band when I never thought I'd get the chance.
Genuinely started crying a little when they opened with the first few notes of 'Grounded' - just hit me like a wave, never had that at a gig before.
Amazing setlist that spanned their whole career, even throwing in a few B-Sides and rarities. They all seemed so happy to be on stage together with each other - was incredibly infectious and made the whole vibe of the gig something really special.
Honestly, unless Bowie comes back from the dead or Sonic Youth get back together this is it for me.
10/10

Saw Unthanks doing a matinee show today. As beautiful as ever and still got the most emotionally charge clog dance I’ve ever heard of.
Only negative was the venue being a class boxy municipal theatre with aircon turned up despite the wind and rain outside. Its hard to tune into a performance when its too cd to take your coat off for the first few numbers.

Just saw Corey Taylor at the Swansea Arena. Wasn't my sort of thing, not nearly punk enough, but I had to go to keep the missus happy.
Overheard a bloke in the queue for the gents near the end say he'd "Spent nearly 3 hours sweating like a paedophile whose kid has just been asked if they prefer Daddy or Chips."
There was fire dancing.

Saw the legendary Deep Purple last night, two free tickets. Big fan of their 70s output but thought they might be a bit naff.
How wrong I was.
A vulgar display of power and chops. Ian Paice is solid as a rock and Don Airey on keyboards was just MAGNIFICENT!

Either the best or 2nd best, they are just so chilled and on fire at the same time now As you said they seemed very happy to be doing it! Set lists are changing massively every night.

I went to see a blues guitarist called Miller Anderson in a little pub in Worthing a few weeks ago with my old man and brother, he was singer and lead guitarist in the Keef Hartley band in the 60s / 70s, even graced the stage of Woodstock (can't imagine there are many left). Absolutely outstanding night, my old man said it was one of the few nights he's had in the past 50 years that felt like the ones he went to during the 60s in local clubs. Must have been about 40 people in this little back room, proper old school stuff!
He's doesn't seem to play often and mostly just around the south-east, seriously recommend it if you know he's playing nearby and you like your classic blues.
