I love coop. I've spent nights being a saviour (or trying to) on bosses like Fume Knight, Gehrman, Orphan, Artorias etc. If I did play online, I don't think I'd be able to respect anyone who summoned so I would have to kill them. Fume Knight is a great fight and not one to pussy out on

Your prompt of poise backstabs made me watch this video, and I have to admire the dedication of PvP players to work around the deficiencies of the player-hosted netcode:

LTK I disagree entirely about DS3 poise. It's utterly wank. They brought too much bloodborne over. You can tell which game was developed first. Re: Armour upgrading - also means you can rock lighter armour but it can still be effective, so it does affect your build. That's my opinion though. Horses for courses etc.

I refuse to take criticism about bosses from anyone that hasn't beaten Furi š

So the Dancer is dead. We killed each other, it felt very inelegant, but I have the power of infinite respawns, so suck it! Also whaaat this game has more? Have Had to put it down right after, but those big blob people made a re-appearance, not loving that. And I guess I need to go explore the winter wonderland DLC(?) area sometime.
Hour count says 48 but that can't be correct, I think the xbox series x has some bug where it keeps ticking if I don't close it "correctly"

torb Good work. A kill is a kill! Oh gosh yes. There's more. A lot more. You've also two optional areas that are pretty well hidden and are very much worth finding and exploring. Not even taking into account the two DLCs which are pretty sizable each. That reminds me. I take it you found Smoldering Lake?

Thanks! I couldnt get/find a summon to save my life, and I'd apparently borked Siggys questline, so no help there either. Thats where the thing shoots arrows at me? And a big worm? I felt super clever having the huge arrows kill the worm, and I thought this was the critical path. I need to go back, some proper badasses killed me when I _think_ I was closing in on the source of those f.ing arrows.

Horses for courses etc. If I remember right they brought back passive poise in Elden Ring, so we'll see how the chips fall. Incidentally, there was a big update to poise values at some point after the release of DS3, and I think no one really understood how it worked before that. Did you happen to stop playing before this update?

Managed to invade more people this evening. Seems there are still some people playing Prepare to Die edition. I can successfully invade about once every 10 - 15 Minutes.
About 1/3 disconnected or suicided/died to monsters, another third I managed to kill and the last third owned my ass hard. I really suck at PvP, so I can only win by surprise or if I actually manage to invade another inexperienced player. Some dude with a great axe owned me twice. Can't really get used to the network delay. He does a jump attack, I move WAY out of way, but still get flattened.

After the āepicā fight against the Dancer I had to laugh when the next big set piece was āa ladder descendsā. The lothric knights are really vicious and I got ganked a few times trying to run past a handful of assassins. Less than 100 arrows to kill a dragon so I just did it- first time I endured that kind of tedium since the dragon sword in DS1. 2 for 1 was nice though.
Next boss was just an empty suit of armour if I understood correctly - naturally no challenge for me, a suit of armour with meat inside.
Iāve pushed through the archives as well, got a very bloodborny situation with three hunters taking me on at the same time. I was under the impression this game was short-ish but it really feels huuuge.

Which still annoys me.

Yeeeaaah you didn't need to do that, there's a much quicker and easier way to kill them if you just go around the courtyard.

Yeah, I realized that when I finally looked left - at least a way to get past them. If Iād seen it earlier Iād probably let the dragons be as I have done for the other souls-games. At least Iām high dex so dmg was decent.

I cheese it - leg it over the bridge, fast quit before the breath, leg it again once you load back in and you'll only take some chip damage from the burning ground before you can get to safety

Had a slab from somewhere so suddenly my sellsword blades are fully upgraded.

torb I take it you found consumed Kings Garden if you've gone through the archives? Ooh, yes and no! I went down there, got past a few horrible pussys of men (I think that's what they're called) and chickened out when I saw two menacing knights and took a shortcut/elevator back. Thanks to you I went back now, and found the boss. I summoned Hawky the something and he helped me take it down first try, and there seems to be more stuff in this direction. It was nice there was an easy boss here to take my mind of Lorian, that cunt.

Lorian seems doable though, I think I need to roll counter clockwise and it should all fall into place. I also need to return to Smoldering Lake to properly thank those who killed the sandworm for me, but can't remember what bonfire was closest, that area is a bit maze-like in my mind.

The princes are cool, one of my favourite fights Do items not get left behind if you die at the end of a boss fight in DS1 so you can go back and pick them up when you respawn? They do in DS3 and Bloodborne
torb there are a couple of secret areas I think you can access by this point. One of them is especially worth doing

Should they be done before I beat Lorian? Will I know point of no return for DLC stuff before I reach it?

It's not an issue in DS3, you can carry on after the final boss anyway. It won't go to New Game+ until you choose to. So you can do the DLC and anything you miss post game if you want

I'm now at the point in DS1 (Lost Izalith) where I abandoned it on first playthrough, returning literal years later to complete it. Definitely powering on through this time.
Tell you what though, the Remaster hasn't been particularly kind to the stompy chicken demons in the lava - if anything they look even more ridiculous.

They're literally the arse end of a boss(which you might not have done) used as an enemy. From what I understand, that whole area was given to someone new with little experience and by the time anyone looked at it, it was too late to do anything so it got left in

Before I shut off the console I suddenly found myself in the tutorial area only it was dark and the enemies are rougher - trippy stuff - hope the tutorial boss shows up too

Man, Bed of Chaos is still as aggravating as ever then
Edit - On the plus side, I can run there from Demon Ruins and past a Titanite Demon without taking a single hit. Good practice I guess

There is another bonfire hidden closer to the boss I think. Somewhere in the lava lake. Unless yours is even closer, then I probably don't know that one.

Yeah I found the one behind a magic wall in the lava, but the corpse run was through a load of fire statues that were harder to avoid. Anyway, Bed of Chaos is done after about 10 attempts last night. I've switched to a quality build (28 of each at the moment) and I'm upgrading the Murakano. Never tried it before but I quite like the moveset, seems like a slight delay on each stroke compared to Uchi, but it's smashing through the crystal skeletons in Dukes Archive.

hope the tutorial boss shows up too OK I lied and secretly hoped the tutorial boss DIDN'T show up, but he did and he's a proper asshole.
