Tricky. The blob on the right looks just like an Astromech droid, I don't think it's a Star Wars game though, I can't even narrow down the platform, I've pretty certain it can't be ZX Spectrum there are colours next to each other within an 8x8 square without colour clash.

If it helps, that R2D2 looking fucker really isn't somehting you would expect to be in this game. Also, that little green thing in front of him is a button.
I could give a bigger screen but it may start to spoil it, so what I will say is this part is (I think) from the first screen of the game.

I can picture it now but not the name. I think the robot is more like the one from the speccy game Kat Trap. Egg shaped, head on front with legs either side mounted high up.
edit: okay reading Wunty's post maybe not. I can't tell if the thing in front is a cabinet or an house so i can't figure out scale either.

I don't know, it's got to be pretty old. It's been yonks since you could have something that looks exactly like R2-D2 in your game without having some incredibly friendly interactions with lawyers.

No to both of the above.
It was released in 1990. That screen is from the C64 version but it was also out on the Amiga, Atari ST, Amstrad, Speccy and I think there was even a DOS version. Bloody amazing game.
