Hmm... Well the shot seems to depict a guy rubbing his crotch whilst staring intently at a short sword. The purple suit makes me think Joker but it's not a Batman game.

Googled it. I bloody well had this for my Game gear . I wouldn't have remembered the name of it though. Its one of my all time favourites from the Master System. Brilliant soundtrack too. |

I had forgotten about that title screen thing, so yep Apidya (II). A cool little Amiga shmup. Got ignored for the inferior Project X by Team 17 and eventually got its budget release by T17. Had some interesting bonus levels too. Full screenshot here:  |

I embarrassingly had a cracked copy so never saw any box art, hence me always thinking it a sequel. Brilliant tunes by Chris Huelsbeck too. Got the theme of the first level stuck in my head.
It's true though, it was better than Project X.
