I'm kind of torn about Deathloop. Especially after watching the Skill Up-review. But I think he just didn't really embrace all his options and perhaps didn't experiment sufficiently. In his opinion Mooncrash is similar, but basically does everything better. Perhaps it's partially a Difficulty-issue.
What do you think about it in terms of how difficult it is? Does it encourage the player to use various options and such?

I miss the days when enabling hardware acceleration would actually make the textures worse. DirectDraw Direct3D with filtering disabled Direct3D with filtering enabled

Football Drama A few patches hit in the three years I was playing it, hence the format change from mobile game to full screen as the shots go on.

I'm at work so I can't watch that review at the moment, but I will say that it's notable how dissimilar it is to Mooncrash. The maps are not randomized, there's no analog to the Corruption system, and the "puzzle" at the heart of it can only be solved one specific way. They are different games with different philosophies, I guess you could say, and the time loop in this one is as much a narrative device as it is a gameplay mechanic. As for difficulty, I'd say it has an... interesting relationship to it. It certainly pushes you to use your new powers and new toys creatively in the early game, but there's also a point after which the game starts becoming more and more of a playground to experiment in than a serious challenge to overcome. I understand the objection to this aspect - having to use powers and getting to use powers are different experiences - but the game feels built for this purpose, giving you the room to go fast and loud in a way Dishonored and Prey do not, making killing and dying not such a big deal.

It just dawned on me that the RPS forum is gone and thus I can repost my Dark Souls screenshots here. So, prepare for scenes you probably have seen a dozen times before, but which were still new to me not too long ago. I've owned the Prepare to Die edition on PC almost since release, but I bounced off the game very hard back then when it came with Games for Windows Live (ugh), and was just a very bad port in many ways. Recently, I've given it another try and have found it a much more enjoyable experience.

Incredible. The art direction and design is so damn good in that game, it's going to age really well. And such a sense of place, and space. Yet to be bettered.

I honestly don't remember these shots at all. Perhaps I just had a moment of Dark Souls-hate and ignored them. But the artstyle is certainly not one of the problems I had with the game.

Second load of Dark Souls screenshots incoming, fresh from the press. Noticed I don't really have many screenshots of Undead Burg, Depths and Catacombs, so I went back and made some.

What's amazing is being able to instantly recognise every single location in all of these screenshots even when it's practically a picture of a wall

Love this one. Those stairs are probable my most-traversed part of Lordran. Still impressed how well From get their characters feet to connect with steps.

Dragon Age: Inquisition
Updated Leliana, combining 4 different mods. One persons' face mod, anothers' hair mod, from a third source a slightly darkened and more textured outfit, and one that updates all the eyes in the game to more detailed ones.

I have started on Pillars again. My first playthrough was with a human Paladin and the dispositions were some mix of Benevolent, Honest and Diplomatic, so I'm trying to steer away from that. Not planning an evil playthrough, but I'll certainly take any "deceptive" and "clever" options I come across.

A Wael priest with low perception sounds interesting. But it will suck in combat.

A Wael priest with low perception sounds interesting. But it will suck in combat. I guess more accuracy would have been nice for ranged weaponry eventually. At the moment I'm having to use her as a frontliner since I only have Eder otherwise. But I need a priest since I won't keep Durance this time. I probably could have shifted around points a bit more, but mostly I just went with the recommendations. Though in hindsight I'd probably sacrifice some dexterity. Base values for endurance, accuracy and deflection for priests are pretty low in any case.

Accuracy is also used in melee and when trying to affect enemies with spells.

Some random exploration shots from Guild Wars 2. All from the old original zones. I've played through them before (had 5 level 80s) but it was so long ago that I decided to make a new character and explore it all again. Holds up well for a decade old game.
Sylvari capital.
Somewhere in Maguuma Jungle.
A town in Kryta.
Divinity's Reach (human capital).
Hidden Garden jumping puzzle.
A Krait base.
Timberline Falls
Secret strawberry garden in Ascalon.
