I just want more extraction games (that aren’t PC exclusive). Come on CoD DMZ mode, make it the next big thing

Turns out this runs quite well on this shitty laptop. 1080 with most things on low (so pro gamer settings 🤣) and getting 45-55 FPS.
Been running the test/training mode against bots to refresh my map memory and get used to the keys again. Did quite well actually and still fraught with tension as I mowed down a load of bots loitering on the extract point.
Going to keep running a few of these because fuck my life the health system is a bastard puzzle in itself. Meds, painkillers, splints, bleedout stoppers etc.
Winning a firefight is one thing but coming out the other side and having to deal with a bleed with all the meds in the right order or looting everything while topping all my mags off knowing full well the gunfight is bringing all enemies my way

OMFG I went into a raid as a scav and instantly I though Yes! this is the smugglers boat extract, I know where I am already. Quick check of my time left and extracts and I have a nice loot run that will take me past dorms, nip into the gas station before circling around the military base exit and on to the Scav checkpoint to extract. I know where lots of hidden stashes are along the way, plenty of cover, a solid plan!
First, I just need to get across this river. Check the surroundings, nobody around. I stealthily make my way towards the makeshift bridge and 'pyong' a bullet ricochets close by. Fuck. RUN!
Serpentine!
Serpentine!
Made it up the bank on the other side and turn around to see 2 PMCs trading shit, I only have a shotgun. I'm off.
Get into cover and look around ... awe crap I didn't need to cross the river. I done fucked up.
Started to sneak back looking for the PMCs who were now quiet.
'zunk'. Dead. Bollocks.

I feel this could just be stories of my immense noobness and deaths.
Spawned into customs and started making my way around the factory looting anything not nailed down. Some trading of shots close by and lots of scav voices. Not too worried I'm with 'my people'. Made my way outside and spot a scav, friendly wave 'people hi'.
He takes a shot at me, bullet whizzes past my head. WTF mate? More shots are fired, arms blacked and I'm bleeding heavily. Turned to run and BOOM shotgun to face. WTF happened.
First time in a while that I've had time to play more than a single round so I'd gone in as a PMC this time. Can one person be this daft?

The learning curve is amazing. As I get better at the gun handling/looting and keybinds it's freeing me up to think more in map layout, orientation and paths to extracts.
I've made a significant change to the audio that's helped me quite a bit, installing an eq and set a loudness cap. I can now dial the volume right up and hear footsteps and voices much easier but no longer blast my ear drums our when I actually fire a gun.
Spent a whole game tracking a PMC across the map looting lots of shit he left behind. I was so heavy and loaded with shit, no idea if any of it is anygood until I sell it. I eventually huffed my fat ass over to old gas gate and extracted.
I've run out of stash space now, had to burn the rig and duffle bag.
I need to sell some shit

Actually managed to get some some tasks done so feel I'm progressing a bit. Prapors gold watch the old bastard.
Now I've got to go find a USEC camp in the woods and a convoy. Fuck woods is so easy to get lost. I have the general rule that you always spawn opposite to your extracts and for the past 5 runs I've dropped in the east of the map and have to go west to extract but the camp and convoy are northwest first and the time left means you have to make haste.
I keep getting lost around a huge rock section in the centre of the map and fail to find out when to break away in the direction I need to go. More on this later.
I'm a bit strapped at the moment and went in with a shitty iron sight mp5, 3 mags and some spare rounds. Again, as before, I started making my way around this rocky area and I heard a sniper and quite a few AR shots. I am outgunned.
I spent what felt like 10 mins trying to work out where these bloody sniper shots are coming from and actually found sneaky pathway all over the rocky area to get to a secret bunker and then SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER! as the sniper cracked a shot off just above me.
BRRRTT, BBBBRRT tango down. 10 mins of stalking and I got him and my prize was a lovely SKS rifle with scope. I tried it out straight away and shot the legs off some poor fucker in the distance that was making their way past.
Then it all went to shit trying to get down off this fucking rock. Dropped a bit too far and broke both my legs, with no splints or pain meds to hand, I had to slowly hobble to extract ... in errr ... that direction? Which brings me to my original problem with this map. 20 mins left, 2 broken legs, hungry and thirsty and with the extract in the ... direction of the person I just shot at, I think. aww crap.
Shuffling along like a zombie and I can see a body on the floor. Result! There could be meds!
There were no meds!!
He is however juiced with alsorts of other shit. A pimped AK, a better SKS, massive bag of loot and rig full of mags and shiney shit.
Why. I've hit the lottery and my ticket is blowing away in the wind.

Get the fuck in! 2 successful extracts in the bag.
Got out with an VPN 209. Not the best condition of a weapon but the ammo in it's mags had stopping power coupled with a load of bits back at home base that I've looted from a similar rifle meant I wanted this. It's that good that I was able to 1-2 tap 4 scavs around the Emercom base that came at me while I looted all the wierd and wonderful shit.
When extracted, I sold all this shit for cash monies which I then used for meds, repairs and upgrades.
The crafting is crazy complex and I was like a toddler smashing duplo bricks together trying to fit shit onto my new rifle. It would not attach, it came from a similar rifle FFS. Make. Sight. Fit!
After some searching of the trader market I worked out that I can replace the dust cover for this rifle to a bastion model with built in rail.
Success! I could finally attach this collimator reflex sight I picked up about 11 raids ago to something. I also picked up a suppressor and swapped out the muzzle ring. I was in business!
Insured all my shit and back in I went ... a tale for tomorrow.

I dropped in on woods and was around the lakes in the northern area. The perfect opportunity to due Prapors search quest and then straight down south to the outskirts extract. I was playing without the map this time trying to rely on the locations as markers. 3 seconds in and I'm cracked by a sniper to the leg and it's already bleeding. FFS I limp off trying to wrap a bandage around me but still limping. Crap it's also broken and I'm also under fire from the other side. I strap on a split and sprint for the rocks. Crouched down in the reeds I'm swallowing meds and jabbing needles in me to get me health back. I need to move otherwise I'm losing my new best rifle. I'm blindly dashing around trying to work out where I am when I realised that the convoy is just down the road. I sprint to and loot some shit and know the camp is up on the ridge behind me. So I start barrelling over as fast as my legs will go now realising that I'm starving and dehydrated. Fuck I'm going to die, I need food. Snuffling around the camp I find some milk, juice, crackers and a bog standard M4. An M4. Yoink! Right, extract. South as fast as fuck as the gunfire around me is getting closer and shots are pinging off the rocks nearby. Sprinting, resting following the power lines and road down south. I'm going to make it ... BOOM! Mines. Aaaaaarrrghhh! Fucking fuckety fuck. I didn't realise the mined area covers the T junction at the bottom. Dr NoLegs Tried to document on the map what happened. The red circle is where I spawned, red arrows sniper fire, green '1' is me healing, the blue circles are the quest locations. That big red fucking X is where legless corpse lays

Logged on last night in a panic because I thought I lost all my insured kit as you onky have so long to grab it.
Not to worry, it was all there apart from my lovely suppressed vpo... In fact I had that many insurance claims I didn't have the stash space to reclaim it all. Not to worry a I have a while to collect I'll do a few runs on factory and if I die I can claim another. Well I did. A lot. Death after death on factory and I eventually rinsed through all my insurance claims. For science, honest.
There is also a scary fucking madman in factory that runs at you with a hammer.

I absolutely wrecked the beefiest of PMCs last night. Level 73 and he was loaded. I can't say I planned the takedown, it was more a reactionary killing but I'll take it.
I spent most of last night trying to complete a quest where I pick up a secure folder from the directors office in the big red warehouse on the customs map and then try and deposit it in a secret location with the factory map. Getting the folder is easy enough but surviving factory is the problem and failure means starting again.
I made my way from the big red with my secure folder and heading for the old gas station looting things. Instead of running temporary bridges I decided to shuffle over the main bridge and loot the cars on the way and then go through construction. On the way I found 20 BP 5.45x39, nice. Much better than the shitty FMJ I have, into the arsepouch it goes
All was going well until I was completely hosed by a scav with a double barrel, I don't know where the fuck he came from but he nearly zero'd my thorax. Then I start hearing AK fire. I blind fired a couple of bursts and then pegged it straight across the car park towards medical because I had no meds on me (long story, I'm skint).
Coughing and spluttering I start scrabbling around for anything to heal myself. Upstairs in the med room .... a Salewa (fabled fucking med kit that I need for a intro quest and this is only the second I've seen). I'm a long way from exit, surely going to die so I use it, then some juice and popped painkillers.
I hear some HEAVY footsteps running around outside the door, this dude is carrying stuff. Then they stopped. If this guy has a decent armour I'm buggered, as I only have FMJ rounds in this mag. I swapped mags and topped of the partial with 16 rounds of the new BP ammo, then loaded it back in.
Do I investigate the sound or just get the fuck out of dodge? I like this gun and I really want to extract with the left over med kit cos I might be able to turn it in so I chose option 2.
Slowly creeping towards the open door my ears fully pricked for any sound I was suddenly greeted with a giant chadly mother fucker. I just panicked. I fully magdumped a 20 round clip into this guy's face and chest as the sound of ejected cartridges were pinging off the surfaces around me. Nailed it!
No time to waste, that ruckus will bring others, I need to loot and go. We'll, I've never see a backpack so big, it had like 30 or 40 squares for storing shit. I threw my current bag and rig into it and there was still loads of room to spare. I loaded his rig and bag on my back and nicked his primo SKS rifle with attachments all over and fucked off to extract.
Result!

Well there's plenty more madness where this comes from.
I've effectively fucked off this secure folder mission because I keep getting really shit spawns on factory so I have to run the meat grinder to get to where I want. Spawn in as a scav though and I'm practically at the bottom of the steps to where I need to be.
I've moved on to doing Survivalist for Jaeger. Premise is I have to store an MRE food pack and a bottle of water in 2 seperate bunker locations on the Woods. Each 'plant' takes 20 nerve tingling seconds of holding still so you can secrete the items somewhere all the while imagining when all the shuffling and gunfire outside is gonna burst in and pop you. So a total of 80 seconds stood still and each counter resets if you let go.
Emptied my arse pouch and stuff the MRE and water all up in there, equipped a gun, rig, bag and armour and went in. Again I'm up near the lakes and I need to be right down near outskirts for extract and but also where one of the bunkers is. Again as per last time I got too close to the road near the T junction and blew a leg off. I thought I was further back and I only went to see where the loot stash was.
Luckily this time I wasn't close enough so didn't die from a second blast but it was enough to trigger a heavy bleed. Dumb fuck that I am I had no tourniquet or other implement to stem the flow. I decided to stow my gun in my bag and drop it in a bush (insurance fraud) and lighten up enough such that I can get to the objective in time. Equipped with my trusty 9mm I made for the bunker.
Ptong. Piyoon. Bullets start hitting the fence close by so stupidly I fired off a couple of rounds in the direction they came from and I head down the steps. FFS
Once down there I stash the first item and without incident and I'm frantically moving around trying to trigger the second prompt. I can hear footsteps, a couple of people are upstairs. The prompt appears and I'm fumbling the water into the box. Gunfire is rattling above and echoing down the stairway to me. My screen has practically faded to black with blood veins all around the edges. 4 .. 3 .. 2 .. 1 done!
Somebody came thundering down the steps, AI or PMC I don't know and unloaded a clip into me. Game over.
I successfully completed the mission though. No requirement to extract.
TBH the other bunker didn't go much better because like a thick fuck I forgot to eat and drink between raids so I loaded in starving and thirsty and passed out shortly after planting the items.
Essentially 2 corpse runs but still, first time I've ever manage to get these tasks done. I'll take it as a win!

Not played all week but I think the odd training method of repetition with a break holds true.
Had a couple of awesome raids and finally got some early level quests checked off. Therapists med kits, Jaeger's survivalist and most of Mechanics stupid gunsmith quest. Had to Google some of them because it's hard enough staying alive but also working some shit out while under fire. Nope!
Finally did the extortionist quest and while heading for extract I milled down a duo of PMCs. They were little Timmy's but since I'm not much better I felt chuffed. Quite how they were so fucking geared though I don't know. The MDR I snagged is FUCKING STACKED. I disassembled it to see how much I'd get for it. 500+k. Good sir!
Decided to just use it instead and it has carried me like a champ. Got so many kills with it and with quite a few extracts and loot runs under my belt it's already earned me more than than it's worth
I have saved loads of cash up and spunked nearly 2 mil on a scav junk box and a keytool. The box is for all the trash I need to keep collecting for the hideout and the keytool is essentially a keyring to put lots of keys on. Think of them like a TARDIS, the junk box for eg is a 4x4 squares but holds something like 20x20.
Love this game.

Interchange is ace so much loot but it's freaky AF inside. Lots of low light, flickering lights and creaking as you can hear people shuffling around. The markets/warehouses have really long sightlines favouring optics and tight rooms and corridors favouring reflex sights.
I threw caution to the wind and meandered straight through the main entrance to and up the steps and made for the nearest shop to hide. Crouching down behind a shelving unit I was listening for any movement. Twice I heard footsteps stomping past me yet nobody was there so they were either up stairs or down below in the carpark. Well this is unsettling!
I have a task for Ragman to visit 5 shops in this place so as I'm creeping through the various units trying to remember the names of stores I have to visit up popped a prompt to say 1 done. Realising that the audio is a bit fucked I decided to head to the next shop which just around the corner according to the map.
Taking a route through a tech store I snagged bulbs and PCBs for my hideout just as some extremely loud rifle shots went off on the other side of the wall. No messing I legged it for a doorway and found myself in rooms with computers. It's like Christmas. 2nd pc searched and a GPU... queue heavenly music! A fucking GPU. Shoved it so hard in my assmpouch and looted the rest, hard drives, 2 X SSDs and a CPU.
I need to extract with this gold. Head to the door and the shop floor. I can hear voices and running but I can't see shit. Ducked back in to check the map and route out and shots crack off the door frame. Closed the door and ran to the opposite door to escape but stopped myself. They're going to think I've run this way, what if I hide behind the door I just closed, I could surprise them.
I snuck back over and became one with the wall behind the door. Fast paced footsteps approached, the door opened, more shuffling as they sized up the danger in the room, then silence. Couldn't work out if the knew I was here or just deciding if it was clear ... then they took a step forward and stood, in the doorway!? I could see their head in line with the door window. No hesitation. BANG! A single M855 round to the side of his head and he dropped.
I can't believe that was so easy I grabbed his shit and fucked off to extract as fast as possible hopeing it doesn't count as a run-through
Sold the GPU for 400k KER-CHING!

Had a massive OMFG WOW moment earlier. This is the first time I've unlocked the Flea Market and its made generating cash so much easier but it hasn't made customising weapons any easier or it was still some arcane art that was beyond me ... until 10 mins ago when it all suddenly clicked. I've known about the different methods to search the flea so naturally just right clicked my M4 > linked search and was expecting to see a treasure trove of cheap modular bits to purchase and tack on but it always showed me the same few categories so I always thought it was due to my trader or xp levels. Well, it isn't. The link search only displays items 1 degree of separation from the item you're searching from. Naturally, sights, handles, muzzles etc go on the 'gun' but grips, lasers, lights and other trinkets attach to rails > handguards > gas tubes. BOOM! The world is my oyster. I swapped out the shitty carbine handguard for an AR-15 KAC RIS upper and lower with rails Finally I could attach the DBAL dual flashlight and laser I've been holding onto for ages Bought a Rotor suppressor and TangoDown foregrip (stealth grey oh yes!) I have no idea if any of this any good but lets go shoot people!!

That last raid felt great with the gun upgrades. Spawned at the big red warehouse and almost immediately got into an intense firefight with scavs. I accurately (better than anytime before) burst some full auto straight up his chest and face and then spun around and 2 tapped another that came out of a container at me.
Upstairs, got the folder and then mixed it up with another 2 scavs on the way back out who this time actually hit me. Stopped my bleed but no healing items so injured, I headed for old gas.
A PMC was extract camping the RUAF roadblock extract and managed to black both my arms but I got him as he was running away to heal. He had nothing on him, looks like he came in purely rip off others. Cunt.
Headed for medical (crackhouse) cos reasons and found a CMS kit and selewa so just sat in a nice little corner all of my own repairing my arms and getting my health up. Feeling like big mario again I ran the 'death run' past fortress and over the tracks to old gas.
'Please be open', 'Please be open' as I cautiously peered around the corners looking for the smoke. I heard a voice shout out ... it's Knight!! (AI boss that comes with 2 other hard as fuck bosses Birdseye and Bigpipe ... and they have already rinsed me a few times)
I Noped! the fuck out if there so fast. Along the tracks, over the wall and legged it up past storage to the ZB 11 bunker. They have some good gear but the open is not the place for that fight.

I've gone single player mod because fuck cheaters.
Actually works exceptionally well and it just like playing the online version but without the lag, desync or cheaters. However I think the biggest bonus is that the maps load in under a minute instead of waiting nearly five for a session slot.
Sadly I've had to start again as I can't import my progress but I've given myself the the EoD version with the bigger asspouch.
First run on customs done and I've selectively picked loot I needed for early hideout and quests. The bots are a bit fiesty, the PMCs actually rush you.
I iz lernin!

I defo feel like Im progressing on this quite a bit now. Still not played shoreline, lighthouse, reserve or labs and only the briefest of raids on streets cos fuck damn that's crazy AF big map. The game just gets better and better and if you can get over the steeper than vertical difficulty hump, feels better than any other shooter that I've played.
I hadnt died in about 7 or 8 raids and was just earning rubles like boss. Bought a weapons case, grenade box and just farming food items because after some research on what are good items to hang onto, I know there is a barter for a food container coming soon.
I did then got a bit complacent in streamer building with about 5 mins left. I spent too long fucking about fighting about 4 or 5 enemies and looting them before realising that time was nearly up so I lost a lot of good shit including the last chuffing gas analyser I needed.
I'm now rocking a suppressed M1a semi auto rifle with a variable 1x reflex/3x scope, and it is awesome!

I have a friend who says he’s playing lots of this. “Have you escaped from Tarkov yet?” I ask. “Actual escaping isn’t in the game yet. It’s in Beta.” “So it’s more like, “Be In Tarkov” or “Wish You Could Leave Tarkov.” “…yeah”

Its been in beta for so long at this point I fully expect it to stay there. How big are the updates crash, do they add much and are they frequent? The big updates are usually 6 monthly and come with the addition of something large with a new 'wipe', think seasons in diablo. This time it was the new 'Streets of Tarkov' map. It's fecking massive and detailed and easy to get sidetracked looting and forget you actually need to escape. From posts I've read lots of people have upgraded their ram to 32gb just for this map. They also added Oculus audio, replacing Steam's but it's a bit wonky at the moment and has memory leaks. Since the wipe there have been a series of patches to address bugs and balancing etc because the community have been vocally annoyed. I swing between the SP mod and live play and I'm in this for the gunplay experience during raids and also stash management and flea market. It's very compelling to list a bunch of shit you've raided and others buy it. I even have some hideout crafts that are churning out stuff in the background and when I have a bunch a list them all and earn them rubles. From a min max POV I love creating custom mags with some semi decent rounds topped off with the more expensive rounds followed by fastidious but speedy looting. Nothing has given me the highs and lows like this game does. Going through all your inventory and dieing a bunch of times to suddenly nailing a great raid and making out with massive bank.

Probably don't need to mess with that in singleplayer, right? Yeah, I'd say you can play it without headphones in sp once you're acclimated with the maps, and spaws. I changed the audio levels for me personally because the actual firing of the gun and weather effects are very loud and drown out finer sounds like footsteps creeping up on you. The change is very easy to 2 and I can give you the steps to do it if needed. The audio is definitely still wonky in places because I was in streamer building, looting but heard no doors open or any footsteps and when I spun around their was a scav stood in my room just turning to see me. Shat. Myself.

Because each raid is quite intense I feel like each task achieved becomes its own little story.
I was on a pretty good run Monday night with a task from Praps to tag fuel trucks on Customs. I'd tagged one over near big red without issue because it's fairly dead over there. Legged it over to old gas to get that trailer and got into a firefight with 2 PMCs and got quite fucked up. Nicked their meds but still had a blacked arm.
Since we'd traded quite a few shots I was low on ammo so pooled my rounds into a single mag and checked what they had, urgh an AK and an MDR but hardly any ammo and the MDR was garbage. Checked the dead scav, he had a shotgun a quite a few shells. Yes sir!
Made my way through fortress (rinsing some good loot) and over construction to the front of new gas and the tanker is at the rear, to get to it you either go through or left and around the back because of a roadblock. As I slid between the cars I heard scavs running through the shop so got into some sizable combat again but this time with the shotty. Feels epic in between the cars and fuel pumps and through the shop. Took out 3 scavs and while planting the tag a 4th was sneaking around the other side of the truck. I dropped prone and blew his legs off under the truck. Stood up, cocked shotgun. FUCK YEAH!
Had 1 tanker left and I'd actually passed it by accident. So i healed and reloaded and headed to the street. Spot a scav further down the road and decided to take potshots at him. Hit him a few times as he limped off behind a wall in the bus depot.
It was at this moment I fucked up. 7 or 8 kills on the sheet and a task completion in sight, just go and place the last beacon .... or get greedy and chase down the scav for the kill/loot.
Skirting along the wall I can hear him coughing and heaving. Nice, he's mine. Just about to peek the corner and bzzzrrrt .. I peek the corner just in time to get utterly steamrolled by a duo of PMCs rolling down from dorms.
Fade to black. Was a bit annoyed with myself

Hooo boy some of the quests in this are really satisfying to do. I've saved a bunch of them up on woods and since I now had some dailies in the same location, I decided to see how many I can do in a couple of runs.
Kill 3 scavs with thorax/stomach shots Kill 5 scavs while not wearing body armour Kill 3 scavs without healing and exit in a single run. Exit woods twice Kill 3 PMCs over 100meters Find som 60round mags Search the secret bunker
Loaded in with a 3x/9x-1x optic/collimator sight on my trusty Springfield and a bag of m993 (high penetration) ammo and laid down naked barring my helmet (oooer) on a ridge overlooking Emercom. I've already ranged it at just over 100meters and the 9x zoom allows me to peer right in.
It was like shooting fish in a barrel! Take one out and somebody will come along and attempt to loot. Giving you a lovely still target. Pop!
8 mins left and toddle off to extract with a minor cqb skirmish meaning I failed the 'no healing' task.
Load back in and get 2 more scavs but nobody else was around. I moved location for a long distance 230+ range shot across the water to the logging area. Picked off 4 more PMCs, 2 with headshots and headed for extract with a 4 mins remaining. I need 1 more scav so a few yards from outskirts extract I'm looking down range for anybody around scav house or near the bunker for that last need kill. Suddenly a scav starts sprinting for the house and a PMC darts across to intercept. I whipped off my armour and just started shooting to get the scav first. Got the kill and the PMC turned on me immediately.
I was nearly out of ammo so just rand and hid behind the truck to trigger the extract. Hopefully they don't pick up the rig and I'll get it back in insurance

This game now runs loooooads better with my new CPU, all the 1% lows have been smoothed right out. I decided to update the single player mod to the newest version which I think is 1 patch off live and whack some interesting looking mods on.
Well I think it's safe to say I won't be going back online again because holy shit those last 2 offline raids with the mods were so much fun and intense.
I have a better spawn mod that adds loads of new spawn points all over so it's very much like live, in that enemies can be anywhere. Coupled with a waypoints mod that allows them to roam around instead of all sticking in their fenced area.
I also added an AI mod that randomises the skill levels of the bots. They no longer instantly know I'm looking at them from across the map and can't suddenly 180 and rattle off a burst of shots and laser beam my head. They are now loads more tactical, running away, flanking, using cover, providing cover fire if in squads, taking shots when in cover and they're just as likely to miss as me. The PMCs will actually goad and mock you with voice lines. It's hilarious to listen to them.
Customs was actually like a warzone with firefights and shots happening all over, the map is literally alive now and if you didn't know you'd think it was live.

Picture the scene, a relaxing day in Tarkov with little ole me making my way from factory to big red (the full length of the map) to tag fuel tankers (yeah that mission again cos I wiped).
Generally making progress across at a nice steady pace and 2 tankers down but I now need to scoot across the road to the fual station to get the one in there before heading over the river.
I'm currently about 9 kills on the sheet and getting some alright loot so I stroll straight down the road brimming with chadly confidence. On the forecourt I hear a scav voice and footsteps so ready up to nail him as he clears the corner. I came out of cover to shoot and ... Nuh huh!
The 1 voice turns out to be 3 or 4 and loads of footsteps rushing me from the shop. Reshala (a boss) and his 4 fuck hard guards with high tier ammo. I unloaded the clip into one center mass and took him down and carrying on spraying across the others. They lit me up!
Arms, legs and stomach hit with 3 heavy bleeds and 2 fractures. I legged it round the back of the shop weaving in and out of all the cars, barrels and fences. Rounds are pinging off all around me and I'm taking more hits to the body armour. I broke line of sight over a small hillock and limped into a small portacabin and made like a mushroom in the corner to attempt heals and take out anybody that came inside.
Shoving morphine into my body I could see the torches lighting up the door frame so I'm getting ready for more when all of a sudden, all out war happened!!! A group of PMCs over near scav checkpoint heard the commotion and just stared unloading in the direction of everybody chasing me from fuel station.
I spent about 5 minutes healing (used up nearly 3 ifacs and 5 uses of my surv12) up as best as I could but half health limbs, starving, dehydrated and a blackout out stomach meant I was in a bad way. I threw some grenades out the windows and then legged it. I took about round to the leg which drew another bleed (FFS I've just fucking healed it) and now had no more bandages. I just pushed on, round the back of all the vans and barriers, constantly healing my head and thorax to keep from passing out.
None of the bodies I could loot on the way had any food or drink so I was surviving on morphine and med kits to my head. I polished off the remainder of the ifac as I made my way down the stairs to extract bunker. I wish I'd taken a screenshot because my guy was fuuuucked up!

Because I'm playing SP mod I, dont have to follow the rules of online play. To this end I've modded the server values to allow extracts from anywhere and also extended the raid timer to 4 hours which allows me to roleplay 'missions' in a better way by saving up quests on maps to do multiple in a single run (hah, when possible).
Last night's mission was "Operation Overwhelm", to locate medical records and mark 3 ambulances for Therapist, mark 3 tanks for scrap and recover SAAS drives from 2 drones for Peacekeeper, mark 2 UN trucks for Skier, find the sources of a satellite signal (done this one before) for Mechanic, and maybe, just maybe, loot some high value shit along the way. These targets are all over the map and I was hoping to land in the SW as this is where 3 targets are and not land in the NE as this is just one. Bought all my markers, and a 306 key, loaded up a fuckload of ammo and 'dropped' in. I landed NE corner of the map! Shit!
Change of tactic then and head around N for the first tank and drone and then straight S up the towards the Admin building of the resort for a UN truck and the medical records. 1st tank, drone and truck done without incident. I now had to get through to the East wing, room 306. I could hear 'them' all over, loads of scavs and PMCs rolling around. I looted all the safes, computers etc. and made for the East wing. My first encounter was a PMC in the glass corridor. He was on the outside as I was walking inside. He shot me breaking a window and causing a bleed, I quickly ducked behind a barricade and lobbed a grenade, which blew out loads of windows. He panicked and started to run around to circle and flank me so I full auto'd along the length of the windows smashing them all. He's dead but that was a loud encounter which will bring all the boys to the yard.
No time to heal, I legged it up the corridor to the stairwell to get up to the 3rd floor for the room and reposition but I was pincered. Enemies coming down, PMC chasing me up and more outside shooting through the windows at us all. It was a shit show. Burned through 3 60 round drum mags as we all exchanged lead. Everybody else was either dead or run off but I had nowhere near enough med equipment for my injuries, stopped all the bleeds but I was practically on deaths door. Always, ALWAYS end up in a situation where I'm either dehydrated or exhausted and using meds to keep me alive. Checked all the bodies, no food or water or meds to be seen anywhere but rather nice loot regardless. I loaded up, grabbed the docs and then headed for the kitchens to look for supplies. Nothing to be found. Not a delicious sausage anywhere and I'm running out of meds. I don't usually bring supplies in because I can usually find something but not today!
Fuck it, need to get to extraction. I can head SW down the hill to Tunnel and try and mark the tank and ambos on the way if I have time. I made it outside, past the chopper and started down the hill as a PMC was taking pot shots at me. One building near the bus stop. I made a quick detour to see if I could find some anything and found a lone 'Hot Rod' energy drink on the shelf. This took my water and food up the slightest amount from zero and allowed me to stop eating pills for a moment. The PMC was outside, again taking shots at me but I can't fight him with shit ammo so I escaped down the road past cottages. Again, I detoured looking for supplies but nothing. PMC is still with me and now in the garden. I swerved him again as I'm laden with loot and wanted to get out alive. Fucker called me a cunt (not kidding) as I ran away weaving between the gardens in the village heading for the crossroads where the tank is.
I was just taking a breath when 2 scavs exited the bushes over the road and started yelling ... 'Divide my cheeks', its not that but it sounds like it, so I shot at one with my shitty pistol and he ran off, wheezing from a collapsed lung. The other guy shot me in the arm and leg, at which I thought I can't survive this, I only need to get 50 yards or so to extract. Skip the tank and ambos and just get gone I said.
Then, who should appear? PMCunty McCuntFace came running out from behind one of the fences, DIE MOTHERFUCKER!!!
Nearly 50 minutes of taught combat and looting and ... Dead!
Can't wait to get back in for "Operation Pickup the Pieces"

Had a marathon session on this the other evening (yeah I still keep coming back to it even with Zelda eating my game time).
All the server config are json files so after some trial and error I've been able to amend the loot drop percentage so there are more in each raid. Pcs for example will not just have a fan or hdd but will be all the items just like any pc would, GPUs are still quite rare.
I still need to be picky because I haven't changed the weight limits so I still end up being a bit phat if I hoover up everything and I still have to survive. Had a stellar raid in shoreline last time I played and managed to mark of 3 large quests in a single mission Colleagues (find dead bodies), cult (find the cult hideout) and signal pt 2 (deploy 3 signal jammers).
This game doesn't seem to get old, my bitchin M4 juice cannon does the do.
