It's a comedy heist movie that features tanks so that's a positive, weirdly it's even partly based on a true story, it's a great film.

Genuinely sad for Donald.
Kelly's heroes it is.

Probably poor taste to speculate but I occasionally saw updates on these from a page I follow and he was a bit of a train wreck unfortunately. There’s videos of him drunkenly punching out the other singer and trying to fight with bouncers and all sorts. Think he struggled with addiction and with losing the fifteen minutes unfortunately.

I'll never forgive Frank for the semi-final in 92.

I did a quick wiki check yesterday (other than their first album I had no idea if they stuck around as a band), and it seems he did indeed struggle with addiction but also was on two US celebrity reality shows about dealing with addicition (no idea if there were exploitative or actually helpful or how he did). Unfortunately it seems it was a very long battle for him. They did reform a few years ago it seems and release a third album, so maybe that 15 minutes didn't quite slip fully.

Unfortunately they were playing to 20 or 30 people on the recent shows.
They were never a passable band let alone a good one but they were part of a moment in time and it’s notable and sad.

I know next to nothing about Crazy Town, but I did pick up that they were kicked off a tour last year due to this guy's issues (culminating in a no-show gig, followed by a bloody fight between him and one of the other band members). They'd basically become TMZ fodder.

Maybe the Kerrang music channel will play Butterfly in honour of him.

Does Coby Dick count? His 'Last Resort' was in 2000, and he's still alive and kicking as far as I know.

This place needs a 90s and noughties Kerrang/Rock Sound/Hammer thread. Surely there are at least four of us who never moved on.

Yeah at college there was one of our group who always brought Kerrang in when it was out, so that was always a morning wasted as we'd take turns reading it. Then we'd all fuck off to Virgin at lunch time and buy all the new releases we fancied from it. Used to get Metal Hammer every month as well. Funnily enough my wife bought me a copy at the end of last year as a wee stocking filler and I was quite surprised as I genuinely didn't think it was still in print.

It was The Word, for me. I would stay up to watch it on a Friday and be down the record shop first thing on a Saturday. I had some kudos at school as a bit of a tastemaker but I just copied whatever their booking agent was doing and they really knew their shit. I think they had Nirvanas first ever TV performance on there. Most of my favourite songs/albums to this day I first heard on there. This was like the coolest thing I’d ever seen youtu.be/Ttq4RLTszWg?si=Gi3toGSyjuEeU9no

Welp, and now Kerrang TV is closing tonight.
RIP the same 50 songs from 2004 on a loop.

Wonder what the last song on Kerrang will be. Will they bother to choose something that might be considered vaguely poignant or something that was influential - Good Riddance, maybe, or The Black Parade - or will they just pull the plug midway through a Five Finger Death Punch song (which would be a mercy).

I was round my nana’s. Mercifully she’s fallen asleep before the event.
